Roasted pumpkin seeds
MommyToAshley wrote: So, we carved our pumpkins last night and I roasted the seeds. They didn't turn out very well. Not sure what I did wrong. How do you toast your seeds?
I just washed them off, put a little oil on the pan, added salt and roasted them. Did I forget something?
PrairieMom replied: I usually soak mine overnight in a solution of salt water , then do the oil thing, then sprinkle them with more salt before baking.
stella6979 replied: I just use a little cooking spray and bake them for about 10-15 minutes at 350. I also don't wash mine as I think it takes away from the flavor.
paradisemommy replied: i rinse ours off put a couple pats of butter and use garlic salt...YUMMY!!!
lisar replied: I have never even ate them before. Are they good?
MommyToAshley replied: Usually they are... but mine didn't turn out. I might try butter and garlic salt next year.
Boo&BugsMom replied: I don't use anything other than salt. I rinse them, then spread them out on a baking sheet, then sprinkle with salt, cook them for about 20 minutes at 350 degrees. They turn out perfect every time.
mckayleesmom replied: ditto
MommyToAshley replied: Maybe I just had bad seeds...
lisar replied: I am gona have to try them.
Calimama replied: Ew, I don't like those.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I've never had them turn out, either. But I did hear of someone letting them "dry" overnight (no rinsing) and then baking the next day with olive oil and seasonings. I'm going to try that this year. Yes, I realize that Halloween is tomorrow and NO, we haven't carved pumpkins yet.
holley79 replied: I melt a little butter and sprinkle w/ salt on 350.
MoonMama replied: I'm not a big fan of pumpkin seeds.
