Question for you all... - may be TMI

3_call_me_mama wrote: OKay since I am losing my mind (hopefully i'll find it after this baby is born), I cannot remember much about hte wekk or so before I had Cameron/ pregnancy wise. I went to the Dr yesterday for 39 week visit and becasue my right foot is SO SWOLLEN that I cannot bend my toes adn can barely walk!! ANyway, he said it's fine adn not dangerous to the baby because my BP is perfect still, her heart rate is still basically the same adn there was no protein in my urine. He checked me and I'm still about 3 cm and all effaced, so he said he'll see me in a week if not sooner, and to rest. When I went to the bathroom last night i noticed a medium sized blob of gooey, brownish/pink stuff on the TP. (sorry TMI) I'm assuming it's my mucas plug, but don't remember when i lost it with Cameron, so I was wondering if it is just a result of the DR checking me. Anyway the contractions are still of and on, but more frequent now than before. But I was curious, especially those with 2+ kids, what was it like right befoe you went into labor with them. (ie. how long from plug loss to labor, water breaking etc.) I know everyone is different but i was just curious.... also my breasts have started leaking and this never happened wiht Cameorn until i was actually in labor (induced).... THANKS .... sorry if this is TMI......

Jamison'smama replied: Well you are going through just all sorts of fun stuff. I know the swelling should be fine--seems pretty common. Sounds just like my nasty mucus plug smile.gif Unfortnuately I did not go into labor for 2 weeks following (then I was induced) --My sister was about a week following her mucus plug but everyone is different. -

Kaitlin'smom replied: well I seem to rememeber I was about 1 week after loosing that my water broke....and I had major swelling also, I had to wear sandles in winter...not fun, what did help was lots of water, I know its kind of a catch 22 you drink tons to reduce the swelling but then you in the potty all the time....oh and really watch your salt intake (i am sure your doc told you that) but any extra salt will just make it worse.

MommyToAshley replied: I had swelling like that the last two weeks before I was induced. Like Kaitlin'sMom said, watch how much salt you eat and drink lots of water.

I don't remember losing my mucus plug... I am sure I did but I must have missed it so I am not much help there.

Hang in there, it won't be much longer now!

kit_kats_mom replied: When I lost my mucus plug with K, I didn't know what it was. LOL
I went to the mall later that day and walked and walked. My water broke that night.

booey2 replied: Well I lost my mucus plug with Matthew and was induced with him about a week later. I actually lost some if it with Thomas at home around 4:30pm and had him at 11:30pm that night ohmy.gif . Good luck and if I remember have a some fun wink wink can help induce labour.

mummy2girls replied: with Jordan I was induced so i never lost my mucus or anything. With jenna i went in for an appoinment at 39 weeks and was 2 cms dialated. He gave me an internal and it hurt like heck..so he was more forceful. That night i went to the washroom and had what happened to you. i lost my plug and it was gross! then i started with contractions and such. i went back to see him 5 days later and i went in to get induced as my blood pressure just sky rocketed!

paradisemommy replied: i lost my mucous plug about a week or two before i actually gave birth (which according to the nurse when i called the day i lost it, she said it was perfectly normal and that's not a *real* sign that you are going into labor (like asap). i'm totally with you with the swelling - my feet and hands were so bad i couldn't close my hands in the morning and i swear i could feel my feet squishing everytime i walked...eeeeewwwww...

A&A'smommy replied: I don't know about all the other stuff but I had to start wearing breast pads when I was 6months pg, and before I had her I was actually having to change them. Also your real tiny and a girl I knew started swelling like that a week or so before she had her baby by time she was so swollen she could barely move she had her baby.

3_call_me_mama replied: Thank for all the info and advice. I have had contractions off and on since yesterday, but they aren't very strong or real consistant. I'm going to go for a long walk and see if that helps anything, cause it actually feels better now to walk than to sit wiht my feet up.. I haven't been eating any salt and very minimal prepared foods so salt intake will stay very low, hopefully she wants to be born today or tomorrow, cause i pee every 10 seconds it seems, becasu eof all the water i keep drinking. I finally packed a bag for the hospital (i know VERY last minute) but DH thinks that she is waiting until I have everything all set, so now we are so COME ON LITTLE GIRL!!! Will update soon.

paradisemommy replied: come on baby girl!!!!

CantWait replied: Well at least it definetly won't be long now. I had Anthony only a couple days after losing my musus plug. Wishing you ~~~~~~~~ELV~~~~~~~~~~and a safe delivery. wub.gif
