Question for the Mommies - Odd Pains

mom2my2cuties wrote: Ok - I have been having an odd pain all day, "down there" it feels like someone is stabbing me, it has been getting more and more frequent all day long...Any ideas on what it is? I had a Dr appointment today but he hasn't checked me since I was about 36 weeks or so which strikes me as odd considering, but anyway, any ideas on this pain?

I didn't have this with the other two...

My3LilMonkeys replied: If I remember right it's your pelvis and other bones/muscles stretching as the baby drops...I had it terribly with Madison, the pain was so bad I could hardly move sometimes.

mckayleesmom replied: Ahh.....the lovely hot poker in the crotch pain.....lovely. I seriously never really figured out what that was.....but it hurt like heck and would stop me dead in my tracks. Sorry girly.

mom2my2cuties replied: The nurse says she thinks it's my body preparing for or starting labor and me dilating.....

But even she was really shocked when I told her I was almost due and he hasn't checked me in weeks.

Anyone else have that problem?

mckayleesmom replied:
Someone told me once that it was my uterus stretching.....

And for the not being checked part....My doctor never checked me down there...except when I asked him to because I needed to find out an estimate on how much time I had so I could fly my sister out.

Calimama replied:
They only checked me if I requested it.

punkeemunkee'smom replied: A stabbing pain that goes straight up and back is usually dialation. If you are 36 weeks you may easily be starting to dialate. If they get worse or you can't stand them call your OB smile.gif

Calimama replied: Maybe it's labor!! I know you're farther than 36 weeks right?? Exciting!! KUP!

mom2my2cuties replied: I'm a little over 38 weeks. I already called them and she just didn't know what to really say.

My OB doesn't return the calls, his nurse does.

MoonMama replied: Pretty much what everyone has said is what I was thinking too. Labor starting I would guess. KUP. Do you have a call buddy yet?

mom2my2cuties replied: No I don't. I have your cell number though biggrin.gif You'll probably get a call in a few hours if I land in the hospital. Or at the very least a text message since it's late rolling_smile.gif (Can't wait to read a text message sent on pain medicine)

MoonMama replied:
That should be interesting! emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif You better let me know, or else! tongue.gif rolling_smile.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: It's the baby's head knocking at the door!! Seriously. I had this BAD with my second and this is exactly what the doctor said. The baby is pushing down on your cervix, ready to exit. wink.gif

sparkys2boys replied:
You soooo just describe that to a T..lol

mom2my2cuties replied: Well still no baby today, but we did have my baby shower. The pains are getting worse though.

Calimama replied:
hug.gif hug.gif How did the baby shower go?

mom2my2cuties replied:
It was nice. smile.gif I just get really embarrassed being in the spotlight, I hate it. smile.gif

MoonMama replied:
hug.gif Glad you had a nice baby shower. thumb.gif

BAC'sMom replied:
rolling_smile.gif oh yes I remember that feeling

mom2my2cuties replied:
One can ONLY hope....

I swear these get much worse and I'm going to start crying.

At least I finally bought baby stuff lately smile.gif I have been avoiding it like the plague.
