Question for moms.... - graphic a bit so im sorry!
mummy2girls wrote: Ive been having this problem while my AF is here. I have seen my gyn but he was no real help. Please if you have insight let me know... I started my AF yesterday morning and this morning i woke up and was sitting on the couch and all of a sudden i got this stabbing pain in my lower abdomen. and lower back. (no im not preggo). I started to getting cramping feeling also. I stood up to go to the washroom and i fell over in pain. I had to crawl to the bathroom and i was crying at the same time.(luckily Jen was still sleeping). And then trying to make a bowel movemnet was excruciating. I had to stop mid way because it was so bad. And then because i was holding everything in i was cramping worse. It took over half hour to finish(sorry dont mean to be gross). Now everytime i need to either urinate or make a bowel movement the cramping comes full force and im dropping to the ground in pain. I have had this problem 2 months after i had jenna and lasted a few months but then i never had to go through this for months up until today. I did see my gyn the last time and he said i probably have hemroids.UGH! But could hemroids give me this much pain?? i just hope im not holding jen when an episode happens like this....and then when my af goes away im fine again and have no problems using the washroom.
DansMom replied: That sounds so awful! I don't know anything about hemmerhoids, but I do know someone who suffers excruciating pain during her period because of endometriosis. I would badger your physician for some answers---it doesn't sound like something you want to ignore. Maybe if you describe it to him as you've described it to us he'll come up with some more ideas. I hope you find out what it is.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I suffer from endometriosis as well, but I usually have diarrhea with it. The doubling over in pain sounds familiar. I agree...I would keep on until he gave me answers. You may have a kidney infection or it could be a cyst on your ovaries. You don't want one of those to rupture and go unattended.
Hope you feel better soon! ((((HUGS))))
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I've had hemroids and they are nothing like what you describe. With hemeroids it would be painful to have a bowel movement or to stand/sit for too long. Hemroids would not cause the cramping that you are describing. I also have a lot of cramping when my AF is due and during my AF. I didn't think it was a problem, but I've never been doubled over in pain. I would call your gyn. again and let him know that this symptoms are still ongoing and make sure he runs some tests.
A&A'smommy replied: wow im so sorry you are in so much pain!!! i dont have a clue what could be wrong with you...did you rub where you hurting at to see if there are any bumps or anything? i would keep on with your doctor or find a new one....i hope you get better soon!!!! (((BIG HUGS))))
booey2 replied: Hi sorry you are hurting so much. I too have the same thing happen. It never did til after I had the boys and I swear every month it feels like I am having another baby. One day at work the water went off and I actually had to leave work because is was so bad and the only relief I got was when I could sit on the jon. I have used Advil for Migraines and it helps a lot with the pain. Once I feel it starting I pop two of those and usually I am okay. I have never had it checked out, I just marked it up to having children and the toll it takes on our bodies. Hope you find some relief soon. Big hugs to you.
mckayleesmom replied: I would have them check for a cyst or something on your ovaries. Or apendicitis. Try drinking cranberry juice and eliminating caffine and stuff for a couple days.
mummy2girls replied: Thanks gals... i did bring the endo up with my gyn when i went to see him a few months back when this all started and he thinks its not that...because of my history. I have had 2 babies with no problems at all concieving. Because fertility problems arise when you have endo. So that is why he said hemroids... but i am going to go back to him and ask if it could be something else. Im just worried because the pain seems to be worse than it was when io started having it a few months back. i dread my af because of this. And also it usually happens in the first 3 days of my af then it subsides...my cycle is every 26 days for 6 days staright...im just stumped.
aspenblue1 replied: I have had cysts on my ovariesl and it is a similar pain. Usually when you have AF it causes the cycst to burst. do you have pain any other time?
mummy2girls replied: no i dont have any other pain...it only happens the first 3 days of my af
booey2 replied: Hugs again, as I said earlier I could have written this post almost word for word. I am at a loss as to what to suggest. Hope it subsides soon.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: a few months bvefre i got pg with Zach, I had a couple cysts on my ovaries. It hurt so much...i'd spend entire days not moving it hurt so much.... get it checkeed. You don't want iot to burst.... mine went away when my AF went away...but it was back with AF like clockwork....
I found pushing on the spot (not too hard) made it feel better temporarily....
Maddie&EthansMom replied:
Not always. I was diagnosed with endo 7 years ago and never had problems conceiving. The problem is they have to do surgery to diagnose it. When they did my surgery, they found quite a bit of growth in there. My doctor told me to have kids IMMEDIATELY. I had Maddie a few years later and after I had her he told me to get started on another one right away....well, here we are 3.5 years later and I didn't have any problems this time, either. I don't know if it slowed down b/c of child birth or what. That is the only thing that 'cures' it. I am still in a lot of pain with my periods, though.
I hope you don't have it, I am just letting you know that it could still be a possibility. My mother didn't know she had it until she was 45 and went in for her hysterectomy. She had 4 pregnancies.
Push it some more. I'm not a doctor, but it still could be endo or kidneys or something. Nobody should be in that much pain without an explanation. I hope it gets better soon or atleast you get some answers. ((((HUGS))))
