Question for mom with boys...
mummy2girls wrote: Im in search for boy toys for my dayhome as i only have girl ones.. So with your sons what toys do they really love to play with?
Im thinking cars, truscks, blocks, animals, dinos...what else is there? LOL
luvmykids replied: Thats a pretty good start, Colt also loves those giant lego types of blocks.
One idea that you may get other ideas from: Their old daycare had "centers", different areas of the living room. One was the kitchen/baby center, the toys for that area stayed there. There was a "block center", "animal center" and something else. The point was toys weren't everywhere, they stayed in a specific spot, and the other thing was she rotated the kids, so there were never more than 3 or 4 kids at each center, less fighting that way. She also kept ALL toys in plastic bins, that way they only played with what she got out, KWIM? Instead of going mad and throwing every toy in existence around, they played with blocks, put the blocks away, then played with play dough, put it away, played with trains, put them away, etc.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Spencer loves the Rescue Heros, they are just wonderful and so durable. I believe they are made by Fisher Price, but don't quote me on that.
luvmykids replied: Oh, Colt also loves Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys, and all those classic "boy" things.
CAMSMOM1 replied: You could get a few bikes to ride outside. Cam loves his 3-Wheeler, the kind with pettals, they could scoot around on.
PrairieMom replied: 3 words
Thomas the train.
MM'sMama replied: Brice LOVES and I mean LOOOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEESSSSSSS his Little People.
gr33n3y3z replied: puzzles for all
MamaJAM replied: My sons like trains and stuffed animals. They also like playing with dolls (especially Polly Pockets), blocks, puzzles and cars/trucks. (Then again - my girls like playing with stuffed animals and cars and trucks....so there haven't been many changes around here with toys since having the boys.
ediep replied: Jasons faves are his Thomas trains, mucical instruments, Buzz Lightyear, trucks, matchbox cars, magnadoodle,
JoyToTheWorld replied: action figures and matchbox cars
Jamison'smama replied: A toolbench and tools.
Jama and Jack's favorite cheap thing to play with is a big basket I have filled with all the silly fast food toys--alone they are ignored---when I gathered them in a big basket--they love them.
Okay, not a boy thing but Jama loves her bean box--just a big box full of dried beans (pinto, navy etc.) easier to clean up than rice. We have scoops and toys that she hides in the box.
Jack loves anything that rolls and his play vacuum!
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Matt loves cars, books, dinosaurs, any little critter that will fit in his hand, he loves the tools but the hammer typically gets used to hit his sister trains (we have geo trax) he also loves the dress up clothes and shoes.
fashionmumofboys replied: My boys are into cars, trucks, motorcycles, trains, big lego blocks.
luvmykids replied: All my kids still love Weebles too
Cece00 replied: trains, blocks (wooden and duplo), cars/trucks, crafts (my boys love crafts), little people, puzzles. boys can also play with "girl toys"- my boys have a kitchen & play with it, and they like to play with dolls occasionally.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Everyone already answered your question really well - but I'm not sure if anyone mentioned those rubber animals that they typically have at a doctor's office (my ped has them). Wil just got a set of rubber bugs that he absolutely loves! And we also have other zoo animals like a giraffe, bear and elephant. Those race car mats are also good or really any kind of building blocks and make believe tools.
JoyToTheWorld replied: If you can...YARD SALES are a great place to get used toys/books in good condition for very little $$$.
ions_momma replied: Cars, trucks, tractors, all the things that you names are great! Rescue Heros are awesome too! Also legos and blocks, and maybe some toy tools? Ion had a small workbench that he always used to play with. I am pretty sure it was Fisher Price, but I may be wrong. I agree though, yard sales are a great place to find some great cheap toys! Hope that helps!
kimberley replied: lego, lincoln logs, kitchen, cars with a road mat, water table, sandbox, play doh, ride on cars, balls, markers, paints etc
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I wish you were close. I"m about to have a garage sale. ![tongue.gif](http://forums.parentingclub.com/html/emoticons/tongue.gif)
Ethan loves his train set. (We also have Geo Trax) He loves any kind of car or truck, legos and all the things everyone already mentioned.
Nathansmom replied: Weebles, anything and I mean anything that makes noise, especially little trucks that have sound effects. Nathan also loves phones, remote controls, all the toy versions of the real thing.
blue72 replied: Tools, Little People, cars, action figures, and nerf guns. Trains are hard with little ones. They all love them but the little one enjoys tearing apart the track as fast as my older 2 put it together. Nothing but conflict.
mummy2girls replied: well that shouldnt stop you from sending me a few toys...LOL.... kidding!
