Question - Mother in Law

austins mom wrote: How can I get rid of my mother in law without being mean. Even my 8 yr old wants her to go home. She has been here for a week today. She's talking about leaving tomorrow. But everyday she talks about leaving the next day. Im ready to screammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

sparkys2boys replied: Not much advice just wanted to send some hug.gif try to grin and bear it cause ya know it could be worse and some day you may not have her to annoy you!!

luvmykids replied: No advice either, my MIL always stays waaay too long laugh.gif I usually just try to suck it up b/c it's not all that often so I understand her wanting to drag it out.

grandma replied: Start taking about your mother and how she does things and how much the kids love her......

i'd tell dh to tell her to leave, it's his mom. blush.gif

lisar replied:
Our mom died 10 years ago on feb 3rd. Wish we could tell her that.

But hey Cheryl you could start talking like that about Granny. biggrin.gif

lisar replied:
LOL!!!!

Austin called me the other night and wanted to know if my dh would come over and put duct tape on her mouth and hog tie her and throw her in a closet. LOL... He was kidding of course be he wants her to go home.....

Dont worry cheryl you will be at my house tonight so you wont have to deal with her for tonight just when you go home tonight......

grandma replied:
Sorry, me and my big mouth banghead.gif

holley79 replied: I would just tell her that you need family time and "alone" time with DH and you don't feel comfortable DTD with her in your home. emlaugh.gif

mckayleesmom replied: Tell her how glad you are to have her there to help you spring clean this weekend..... rolling_smile.gif

grandma replied:
That's a good one. Also have you left her to babyshop a lot while you go out with girlfriends shopping, to lunch, drinking? rolling_smile.gif

Calimama replied:
I love that idea. emlaugh.gif

luvmykids replied:
That would keep my mom around for months.....she LOVES to come clean my house biggrin.gif

grapfruit replied:
Can I give you my address?? rolling_smile.gif

luvmykids replied:
Maybe later....right now I need her rolling_smile.gif

grandma replied:
I'm just curious, did she leave yet?

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I would just suck it up. I always try to make plans, you know, lots of playdates for the kids, trips to a playplace, just so I don't have to sit around the house with my MIL all day when she visits. It's fine if she comes along, but at least it makes the time go quicker. wink.gif

austins mom replied: ok she has been here for over a week. even dh is ready for her to go. But he doesnt wanna hurt her feelings and tell her to leave.

grandma replied:
I take it she lives out of state. If she had to travel a good distance to get there, she probably wants to get her money's worth.
How often does she visit?

austins mom replied: she lives 3 hrs away in tampa. I send dh to see her often so that she doesnt come here.

She left today... WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!

grandma replied:
I'm glad you got your wish...lol
Really all MIL's aren't bad. I've had two really sweet one's.

Calimama replied:
I know, my mom is a great MIL to DH. rolling_smile.gif

Anthony275 replied: to everybody that thinks their mother in law is bad, my grandma = satan

grandma replied:
I treat my DIL's like the daughters I never had. I give them gifts for no reason, babysit whenever asked and do fun stuff with them.

grandma replied:
Just curious, how is your MIL?

Calimama replied:
Sometimes she can be the nicest person ever or sometimes she can do some horrible things. Every time she seems to be making an effort she messes it up.. but I do see how much it hurts her when she's realized that's she's done something wrong. So we're giving her the benefit of the doubt. She's not a big part of our life, but she certainly has a relationship with Miabella and I know deep deep deep DEEP down (lol) that whenever we need her.. she'd be there.

luvmykids replied:
Aw wub.gif Thats how both my MIL's are....even the crazy one I don't like as much rolling_smile.gif But seriously, even when they get on my nerves, I honestly can't complain because they treat me very well. smile.gif

Calimama replied:
Man I got jippppppped!! wub.gif rolling_smile.gif

grandma replied:
Well I'll bet your gonna be a great MIL one day. You'll look back and remember everything you wished your MIL would have been or done and you'll do it.

Our Lil' Family replied:
That's the exact reason why I have a great MIL, she had a bad one!

grandma replied:
Funny, how that works. People want better for their kids than they had, stuff like that - it's actually pretty darn cool!
