Ques. for WAHM, or those who work outside of home - What do you do?

CAMSMOM1 wrote: I'm going to have to start working full-time, and hoping to see what jobs you have either as a WAHM, or working outside of the home?

Basically, what is your job position, and do you enjoy what you do?

mckayleesmom replied: Sorry...I hope you figure out what suits you best. I would love to work outside the home for a bit, but like you said...daycare is expensive. I will go back to work once Russell is in school full time.

kayla's mama replied: When I was working outside of the home I was a bank teller and also Medical Biller.
Hope you can find something that suits you and makes you happy. I'm still looking for something that I want to do when I grow up rolleyes.gif LOL

Kaitlin'smom replied: I am an Associate Sales Producer, well on my businnes card anyway really they call me an Assoicate Agent. I sell P&C insurance. I like what I do (most days laugh.gif ) I miss my time away from Kait, more just in the afternoons now that she is in pre-school. I dont think I could SAH I would probably go crazy and would need to work at least part time.

booey2 replied: I work outside the house and went to school to become a teacher, I have a University Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies, but I am not teaching, couldn't get into teachers college years ago when I tried. I sort of fell into the party rental industry as a salesperson, then went to another catering office doing billing and order entry. Now I am the Inventory Co-ordinator/IT person at my office - I also do a ton of other stuff for the company I work for, all relating to the computer and data entry. I don't think I could be a stay at home mom now unless my kids were in school full time and I only needed to be there for them before and after school. My plan was to stay at home but that didn't happen and now when we are home with them all day and have bad weather or don't have anything planned they drive me coo-koo. wacko.gif pthhh.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: wavey.gif I was a nurse when I was working outside the home, now I am a sunday school teacher on the weekends, and when my littlest one starts school I will return to the medical field. I love my job, both now and then. rolling_smile.gif

moped replied: I am an Engineering Tech for small oil and gas company - I do like it, but I also get jealous that Tom gets jack all the time, but this is the way it is - I never dreamt my situation would so non-traditional!

JAYMESMOM replied: I was an office manager when I had Jayme and took another job as a medical biller so I could be home more. Well I am now the office manager at that job. It has helped that jim is off on medical since the promotion because Jayme isnt in daycare as much since i work 50+ hours a week.

It is a hard thing being a working mom but I truly love the growth in my daughter from daycare. It also helped that my parents are right next door and would get her early some days.

KingMom replied: I am an executive assistant at a large credit card/bank company, Capital One.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I am a Clinical Lab Scientist. Any blood test you have drawn, I can probably run it. I love my job. I'm just not too happy about my hospital right now. I'll post that later.

kit_kats_mom replied: I WAH for a governmental consulting firm. Basically, I manage a database and update it then do all of the clerical stuff.

Esseilte replied: I don't have children yet, but I suspect when I do, I will have the same job as I have now, as a technical writer. I work with an awesome group of people, so I like my job a lot.

V. =)

CAMSMOM1 replied:

I think I would too. I love working p/t. I have a chance to get out of the house, and still be home with Cam.

I talked to Justin, and he thinks I should stay with my job, and see how our we do paying for childcare, and if we can make it work. He knows how much I love my job, I have so much invested there....retirement, and also invested in the children, I love them. So we're going to wait it out and see. But I know even if this works out for now, in the future, I'll have to find something f/t when I have another child. So I hope this works out for us. wink.gif

coasterqueen replied: I am a business manager for a not-for-profit P&C insurance association. I manage just about everything and wear a ton of different hats since the association is just run by the exec director and myself. There is another lady here who runs the hotline. I do everything from clerical to accounting to legislative/legislation stuff to meeting planning. wacko.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: I am technically a Payroll & Financial Admin for a company that takes in hospital baby portraits. But I work for a husband/wife team who between them have 4 businesses, plus 6 investment properties. I do payroll, financial, A/R, A/P and Admin/receptionist duties for all of that, plus answer phones for a Professional Association that my boss is president of.

I LOVE it - it's never boring! rolling_smile.gif

siblingtoolivia replied: Tax Accountant 4 days a week except right now....until April 18th!!! Right now its more like 70 hours a week....but only a short time of that and then all summer I work 3 days a week! I love my job and love my extra day a week home with Olivia, I couldn't stay home, would go nuts and wouldn't be a good mom.... rolling_smile.gif

MyLuvBugs replied: I do referral marketing for melaleuca, and I do photography part-time (Both from home). It's hard to juggle....especially with DH home to annoy me. rolleyes.gif lol But Lorelei naps for 2-4 hours a day, and DH and I trade off watching her downstairs while the other works upstairs. Saves on daycare, but it's not quite replacing my previous income yet. Maybe by December, but gotta work a little harder. smile.gif

PrairieMom replied: I'm a respiratory Therapist. I deliver breathing medicine to anyone who needs it. All ages from micro premi's to geriatric patients. I also run life support equipment, and provide end of life care. Some of us go on the airplane and helicopter.
There is a lot of stress that goes with my job, it really isn't for me, but it is what I am trained to do, and I really can't branch out with my degree. It's okay, but I would rather stay at hom full time.

Lynda836 replied: I'm a dietitian by trade, but I work as a logistics officer in the military. I like my job. But unfortunately it takes my away from my family. I'm actually going back to work in a month and then I'll be away from my family for about 4 months.

luvmykids replied: I call myself a SAHM but really am WAHM, I still do a lot for our business and when people can't find DH I'm the next in line .... I still oversee our office staff and do the tax stuff, reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, etc just as a checks and balances type thing, and do any of our graphics stuff, brochures, proposals, business plans, etc. Oh, and all the annoying crap DH doesn't think he should have to deal with. wink.gif

MM'sMama replied: I am a receptionist in my dad pediatric office 2-3 days a week. However that may be changing vary soon. thumb.gif
