Public Trans?? Who has and who don't

When people talk of an answer, it's use public transportation, reduce running around etc.
In my area publice trans is not avaiable at all.. You have to drive everywhere. Everywhere is soo rural. What are some answers for us small town rural people??
Who has public trans and takes advantage of it.
Boys r us replied: Trust me, the gas prices here make me want to throw up! We also don'thave public transportation, well not in the area of town I live in. We're in a bedroom town of a larger city that does have buses and taxi's. So I have no option but carpooling..but I only work 10 minutes from home!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Most towns around here have Dart...we don't. We have Ccart. I'm really not sure if Ccart is available for everyone though and I wouldn't use it. Not with 2 kids. Besides, I never really have to go anywhere but to the gym and the store.
TANNER'S MOM replied: There is one taxi in Springdale...
Durning the day the older people who can't drive use it and at night it is the drunks who can't drive... thank god they do use it!
It is very expensive... A ride from a bar to home is over 5.00 a person one way..

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I try to conserve gas by planning all my errands at once. That way, I get them all done at once and I'm not going from home to the bank, home to the store, home to wherever. I go from home to the bank, to the store, to the mall as long as Logan will behave. We have a bus system, but it really isn't so helpful when you have a lot to get and a 1 year old.
luvbug00 replied: we have busses and metro and stuff ( DC , maryland and northern VA) But I don't use it because of the amout of people that ride is insane. too croweded.
kimberley replied: we have public transport but the with the cost of it, i might as well buy gas! just try to shop in one place like walmart.. groceries, clothes, etc. and ask neighbors if they want to carpool for stuff like that. one week you drive, one week they do etc. it saves everyone in the long run. i dunno. i just hope the prices come down soon.
My2Beauties replied: I literally live like 8 minutes from work so I don't have much of a problem. We have a good trans system here though - we have what we call TARC buses, Transity Authority of River City Can't believe I know what that means We also have lots of taxia - but not like in NYC where you can hail a cab on the street - you do have to call them, but they are too expensive, it's like a minimum charge of $4.00 as soon as you get in - I could go 5 minutes down the road and pay $6 - no thanks for that. The bus is $1 here and you get 1 transfer pass if you have to transfer to another bus.
coasterqueen replied: On the outskirts of town we don't have access to public transportation. I think to get a cab out here is like $25 minimum. When I lived in town I didn't have a car so I road pub trans everywhere. Wish we could get it out here in the rural area.
What we are doing now to conserve gas is to drive the neon instead of the van on weekends. When Dh goes to N.O. I will more than likely drive the neon during the week and the van on the weekends. The van is just more convenient with the girls.
Sunflower04 replied: We have buses and train stations that can get you around Jersey pretty well.
CantWait replied: I hate the public transit here in Edmonton, but would take it in a heart beat if I lived back in Toronto.
TeagansMom609 replied: We have busses, and cab galore here. (We live in the city) I would never even think about taking the bus though. Not to sound snobby but the people who ride the bus around here are gross. Plus, it would take ALOT longer to get to work, busses make too many stops.
