Proud of me
MyBrownEyedBoy wrote: I just have to share a brag. Pay no mind. Our house was built in the mid 1950s. All the wiring is safe, I had an electrician look at it. However, most of the outlets are 2 prong, not 3 prong grounded. We have been using those little adapter things to plug in things like power strips and the like. Well, the outlet behind the entertainment center has been coming loose or maybe the ferrets just jiggle the plugs a bit when they are out and about. Anyway, the darn thing keeps shutting off the Tivo and resetting the satellite box. Not anything detrimental, just annoying. So, I talked to my dad and he gave me brief instructions on changing the outlet plugs. And today I did it. I didn't even electrocute myself. The outlet works great and I am a happy camper.

redchief replied: That's good... As long as everyone's afraid of plumbing I'll have a secure job.
Seriously, though, congrats on the upgrade, Kelly!!!
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Ed, with the plumbing in this old place I think I keep a fleet of plumbers in business. I'm about to spend $400 on some preventative maintenance stuff. I guess $400 now is better than $1000 later in flood cleanup.
