Proud mommy moment

kit_kats_mom wrote: I received a nice compliment today from Candice, Katherine’s daycare provider. She said that Katherine is one of the most well-behaved, polite children she has ever had the pleasure to watch. She said she told her husband that if all 5 of the kids she watches were like Katherine, she would have an easy day of it.

I got warm fuzzies all over when she said that because that means that all the hard work we put into attachment parenting her is really paying off. She’s gentle with the other kids, listens to authority figures and is just a great kid to be around...most of the time LOL Bliss!

Somehow I suspect she's on her best behavior at Candice's and saves the demon toddler routine for us. I didn't tell Candice that though.

We get those compliments too when we go out. We also hear "What a lovely family!" too. It's such a good feeling, and lets you know your doing the right things.

No matter how much I try attachment parenting...I don't think I'll ever get that proud mommy moment with my spirited child.

I think they like to push our buttons...so they save the tantrums and such for mommy and daddy

Aw Karen, you already do...you just might be missing it. I swear, my first thought when she said that was "you must have K confused with some other kid" but I've been trying to accentuate the positive recently so I just reveled in the compliment.

Kylie is a bright, energetic, smart & loving little girl.

Aww thanks. I know that I have proud mommy moments, I guess I just can't associate AP with my child being a nice, well behaved, nice to others, etc...because she's not. But I do still love her and she gives me those proud mommy moments a lot. I just can't associate somethings with doing AP.

ROFL! I swear, that is just her public persona. She wouldn't want the paparazzi to catch her doing most of the hyperactive antics that she does at home. It could hurt a girls reputation

Sophia was great too! BTW, how is she feeling?

Pumped full of meds and watching the Wiggles right now Not looking forward to sleeping tonight. I know she'll just wake up 100x screaming again. She keeps complaining about her teeth... but I thought all of her molars were in already. Maybe it's her ears and she just thinks it's her teeth? *sigh* I hope whatever it is goes away soon.
