Potty training update and questions
jdkjd wrote: Bailey has been peeing in the potty at daycare and before bath. Haven't been able to get her to sit on it first thing in the morning.
Last night she pooped in the potty. (Pretty funny sitting in the living room and hearing her grunt )
So, where do we go from here? When is it time to get undies for the daytime?
And what's the status on the other Sept. 2002 babies?
amynicole21 replied: WTG, Bailey! I think it's a great sign that she wasn't scared to poop in the potty.
Sophia will pee anytime we ask her to, and every once in a while she'll ask to go herself. She won't poop on the potty anymore (just did it once, but it freaked her out! ) I don't want to send mixed messages to her about using her diaper at school and potty at home. In the 1yo room at daycare, they don't have a potty so I'm going to wait a month to REALLY start training. Once she moves up to the 2yo room, there is a potty right there so it will be easier.
I really don't know what the next step is I guess I'll be playing it by ear.

Ugh..status for Kylie....notta, not, zilch, nothing. I don't think she'll EVER potty train. At least in 2004 that is. She's very comfortable peeing in her diaper and not acknowleding it. She doesn't like to sit in poo though.
jcc64 replied: Corey's developing a consciousness about it- and will sit on the potty- but never long enough to go. Close, but no cigar. I'm in no rush, tbh.
maestra replied: Same for Jaci, but she doesn't seem to care much about the poo though.
Jamison'smama replied: No baby is potty training in this house--she couldn't care less about peeing in the potty--loves to sit there--and get up and sit down etc.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: DH put Claudia on the toilet twice the other day, he said she grunted, but didn't do anything. He figures it's time to bring up the potty. She has always been pretty good about letting us know when she pees of poops in her diaper. They have a potty and kid size toilets at her Daycare. I think when they are able to pull there pants up and down without assistance then it's time for real underwear. So probably around 2 1/2. You would think I would know this with 2 much older children, but neither one of them were toilet trained until they were almost 3.
ediep replied: there is no child potty training at my house. Jason doesn't care about thepotty yet. He also doesn't mind a wet or poopy diaper. His ped said that he may not be ready until after he turns 2 and I am pretty sure that s true
DansMom replied: Daniel's still pretty young, but we put the potty in the bathroom just to start talking about it. He knows kind of what a potty is and how you use it. But unfortunately he developed a game where he puts his foot in his potty (it hasn't ever been used, so it's clean), and then says "doodle-doodle-doodle!" This is when he wants me to say "No, Mister Noodle! That's not how you use the potty!!" (He loves silly Mr. Noodle on Sesame Street and the ways in which he does things in a silly way and the children chide him.) Then he'll turn around and sit. This repeats about five times. So, I think we're at least a year away from the real thing. We might put the potty away for a while and bring it back out later.
MomToMany replied: Way to go, Bailey!! Hannah still isn't interested in using the potty at all, and she's from April '02.
I would just go ahead and get some undies for her. Maybe that will motivate her to sit more during the day...
maliksmommy replied: Malik has no interest in the Potty at our house. For a while he was telling us that he had gone poo, but not lately. We are waiting until he turns 2 to really start trying anything. WTG Bailey and Sophia for being such big girls!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: well Kaitlin is Dec of 02 and just starting to show signs of interest of the potty, more so right now she sometimes tells me when she has gone in her diper, I have sat her on the potty when she asks but nothing done in there yet. I do need to get her own potty chair. I am not in a hurry.....
jdkjd replied: I wasn't planning on even thinking about all of this until after she turned two but she's been going at day care and has been taking her shorts off everywhere...
She'll even pull down her shorts to sit on her little couch. So I figure I need to have a plan of some sorts.
I can't even imagine what size underwear she would wear. I don't think Mommy is ready for a potty trained little girl.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I know I am not
