Poor Ryan (DH) had to go to ER...

HE GOT BURNED! Really bad too! The flames on the grill weren't igniting, I know nothing about grills, but I think ours is electric (KWIM) and you turn it on and it takes a second and then you see the flames come up? Well he waited a good few minutes, nothing happened, so he bent over to see what was up and try to "feel" for the heat or whatnot--and all of a sudden, of course, the flame just leapt up and burnt his cheek, and then his hand/arm! He yelled really loudly, and he's such a "man" that I knew something must be wrong, he never yells like that when he's in pain, so I ran out to see what happened: my poor guy was sitting on the ground in major pain, the fire burnt the hair on the whole lower part of his arm off, and I could see the really white/pink layer of skin (that you're not supposed to see) singed off.

I felt awful--I knew it wasn't just a "run it under cold water" burn, but I didn't know how bad it was until we got into the ER and finally saw a doc, it took about 45 minutes to even get through the doors...they said he has 2nd degree burns on his cheek and hand, and part of his lower arm.

What an evening. This happened around 6, we got home at 9:30, and Ryan's finally in bed. As is the little one, who gave me lots of trouble going down *AHEM*...

Not the night for that, baby.

Thank you all so much. He's feeling better today--but still really tender, he has some pretty ugly and painful blisters on his arms and his cheek is really burnt still, so he stayed home from work today and I took care of him. I'm exhausted. It was like having two children already. Good practice, but I really can't handle much more right now.

Thanks for asking. He's feeling alot better, been on painkillers all week though, so that may be why. But they said it will take a few weeks, and months for it to really heal...
