Play Kitchen for toddler girl?
MommyToAshley wrote: Does anyone have the Cookin' Fun Interactive Kitchen by Little Tykes? I am thinking about gettting Ashley a play kitchen for her birthday, and this one looks fun, but a little pricey. Actually, it is the middle range as far as the play kitchens go. I would be willing to make the investment if I thought that she would spend a lot of time playing with it. Does anyone have this particular kitchen or have one that they would recommend?
booey2 replied: Okay I will admit that my mom gave one similar to that one to Matthew for his 2 or 3rd birthday and he loves it. Both boys will go down stairs and play there forever if we let them. They love to cook for daddy and mommy. Who would of thought to get a kitchen for little boys, so if they like it I am sure Ashley will love it.
MommyToAshley replied: Well, shame on me! I shouldn't have been gender biased! Of course little boys would enjoy it too!!!!
Just curious, do you know what brand they have?
booey2 replied: I am pretty sure it is Little Tykes, I should have mentioned that, it makes the sounds of the stove, water boiling, bacon frying, it looks similar to the one you have the link to. Here it is I found a link:
Kitchen set the boys have
Edited to say, that they love the fact that it comes with a phone.
jdkjd replied: We and our neighbors both found play kitchens at yard sales. Start looking and I'll bet you will find one pretty quickly.
coasterqueen replied: I got Kylie the Little Tikes Country Kitchen for Christmas, well I found it a few days after Christmas, lol. I went to a consignment shop and bought it. It was in EXCELLENT shape and I paid ~$60 for it! I wanted this kitchen, though, because it had everything I wanted it to have that the newer ones didn't, but they don't make these anymore.
Anyways, it was missing a the ice cubes and the coffee pot which I was able to get on Ebay really cheap.
Kylie LOVES to play with her and it's really helped her "pretend" play. She loves to feed me at her kitchen all the time, lol.
If you don't mind having something used and you don't want to spend alot, check around the consignment shops. I've seen a ton of cute kitchens in ours lately.
coasterqueen replied: Also, if you find one used and the stickers on it don't look so new or it's missing something you can call Little Tikes and if they are still making pieces for that particular kitchen, they'll ship you the parts fairly cheap.
I did that with the Cozy Coupe I bought Kylie used (see sig below). I bought that thing for $6 used and called Little Tikes for the stickers and the thing looks new now. Course the pics below are before I did that, lol.
Jamison'smama replied: Jamison LOVES her kitchen---we found it at a yard sale early this summer for 30.00 ---quite a bargain! Here is a picture.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I bought Emily and Spencer the Little Tikes Country Kitchen when they were 4 & 2. It was a combined Easter/Birthday gift for both of them. They both really enjoyed it and played with it for hours. The problem now is that it is in storage at my DH's office. I have no room for it in our house anymore (Emily and Spencer had a playroom in the basement, this is now being used by our students). I so wanted Claudia to play with it, but might have to consider selling it and finding something smaller. I would definately recommend getting a PlayKitchen for a boy or a girl.
MomToJade&Jordan replied: We don't have a play kitchen, but when Jade is in a house that does she loves it. I have been thinking of getting her a kitchen actually. I think it would be a really great idea Dee Dee. Ashley will love it.
chloe&tysmommy replied: I think that would be a great gift!!!
We don't have one yet but I plan on buying one for Chloe's 2nd Birthday in September! I guess I should start looking for one soon.....July's just about gone
amynicole21 replied: WOW! That kitchen is bigger than mine! I think I'd like to play in there for a while!
Heather replied: We got Alison this one for her birthday. It is quite pricey but we got a huge discount because my sister works at Toys R Us and we got one of the returns...
Alison loves it...she plays with it everyday and pretends to make us stuff all the time!!

3_call_me_mama replied: Cameron has the step 2 complete kitchen set. We got it for him for xmas last year. I'ts the perfect size for him, plus it has a ringing phone and doesn't take up a lot of space (It comes as one piece). WE ordered the set of dishes that step 2 also sells. We bought it directly through step 2 becasue it was cheaper than any place else we looked, also it had the cheapest shipping. I think it's called the lil helpers complete kitchen set. Good luck to you... we are having the same dilema right now about birthday..excEpt we have until november to figure it out!!
ediep replied: My friend has the exact one that M2A was asking about. her toddler loves it and Jason loves it when we go over to play!!
MomToMany replied: Ww had one too when the boys were little. Believe it or not, MIL actually got it for them. They loved it; it had all the play food and dishes, too.
I'd love to get another for Hannah and Kayla, but it will have to wait until we get a bigger house.
M2A, I think Ashley would love it!! Great present idea!
aspenblue1 replied: That is the same one Isabella has and she loves it.
kimberley replied: the girls i sat for had a little tykes kitchen and my boys loved it as much as they did! great gift idea, but i agree about looking for them at yard sales. it is the first thing people get rid of because they are so big.
