She lives in a cage shes is smaller then a guinea pig and bigger then a hamster.
She does have a little sand pan in her cage and she does use it but not all hedgehogs will.

And they are prickly they actually have a bacteria in there spikes that if you are pocked be then is will give you a little bump and it will be itchy for a bit. Part of there defenses for in the wild.

I do keep her for the most part away from Brice but she really does like him and she has never pokes him but I am still very cautious. She is really tame as far as hedgehog go. My mo had has always had them since I was around 8 or so, so I remember growing up with them and we did have some that were not so nice and lord knows I have been poked a fair amount of times lol . But those ones were usually rescue ones and had not had a lot of handling. The more you handle them the tamer they are.

I have always wanted a hedgehog~I saw a fairy tale movie whan I was around 6 and the hedgehog was magic I also want a sugarglider,a spider monkey, and seahorses! Dh thinks I am a loon and a guinea pig is as far as I have gotten in the animal kingdom-and that is purely Taylor's pet

I had a suger glider...they are really cute, but they can be mean too...even though they say they aren't. They are pretty much a one person animal and they are nocternal and need lots of attention or they die.

Are they expensive? What do they eat?

They can be esp. at pet stores they can cost over $100 but we got ours through a hedgehog rescue so is was just a donation.

They have hegdehog food at a lot of pet stores but our have NEVER liked or eaten it. She get a lot of "people food" like they sort of would in the wild.

But here are some of the things she eats:

Chicken or beef
Canned and dry cat food
Corn and other veggies but corn is her fav.
Eggs etc.
I know there is more but that what I can think of off the top of my head.
