Pillows?
MommyToAshley wrote: Do you give your toddler a pillow in her own bed/crib? Ashlely uses a pillow when she crawls in bed with us sometimes, but she has just started using one in her own bed. This makes me a little nervous. I looked at Target and WalMart for a toddler pillow that was a little firmer, but I haven't had much luck. What do you use? If you use a toddler pillow, where did you find it?
amynicole21 replied: When Sophia takes a nap on the floor, she'll use a pillow. But, she doesn't use one in bed with us. I wast trying to find a toddler pillow, too, but can't find one. I even considered just getting a flat throw pillow without a case... still might do that. For now, she just uses a very very flat pillow... barely 2" thick!
alice&arik replied: Arik has used a pillow for a while now. When he was in his crib and wasn't sleeping very good I took one off of my bedand gave it to him. He started to sleep so much better. I don't know if it was because it smelled like me or if it was more comfortable. Now he just uses a regular one with his Scooby-Doo set.
5littleladies replied: When our kids get to pillow age we use our worn-out, flattened ones. That way they have some support and feel more like big kids but I don't worry about it.
ediep replied: funny, you posted this.....I don't give Jason a pilow in his crib, but he is always playing the the pillow on out couch. He puts them on the floor and lays on them and says "AAAAHHHH" He also puts his head down on the pillows and says "naunny" which is an old family italian-english word for sleep that we say. I asked my mom about getting Jason a pillow and she suggested that we make one kind of flat and smaller than a regular pillow. I'll let you know how it goes.
jem0622 replied: Gabe does not use a pillow. Nathan (4 and a half) does...but he likes them on the flat side.
Check out www.onestepahead.com or www.therightstart.com. They carry toddler pillows that would be safe and smaller.
kit_kats_mom replied: K uses an old flat one on her bed.
Tonight however, she is pillow-less. The little monkey peed on it while she was jumping on the bed after her bath.
coasterqueen replied: I had bought a little toddler pillow, don't remember where, but it was tooooooo soft. It made me nervous. Kylie sleeps on a regular sized pillow. I actually gave her some of our old pillows so they are now firmer. But she actually likes to sleep on DH's feather pillow. I don't let her though. I'm allergic to the darn thing but he has to have it so I at least have it in an allergen cover, lol, but it's too fluffy for Kylie .
Kaitlin'smom replied: Kaitlin plays with the one in the living room loves to curl up with them and will lay on our in our bed, she does have some loony toons pillows in her crib that she must have in the corners looking at her before she will go to sleep, on occasion I have found her sleeping on them but it has never really bothered me since they usually are still in the same spot from the night before
paradisemommy replied: i don't know how creative you are or if you sew but you could always make your own. my mom made a little blanket/pillow combo for taven that he used to use - it's pretty tiny..he mostly uses our pillows - i have like 5 on our bed and he loves to have his head semi-upright.
3_call_me_mama replied: Cameron has had a regular one since he was about 10 months when he started sleeping out of his crib. It's mostly flat but if he's in our bed he uses one of ours or a body pillow. I know that you can get a travel pillow (which is much smaller than a regular pillow, about the size of a couch pillow but more comfortable and rectangular shaped) at most craft stores. HTH
mummy2girls replied: Jenna uses a very very thin one in her crib....she just started about 2 months ago
MomToMany replied: Hannah has been using a regular pillow for awhile now. It was one of those cheap ones from Wal-Mart for $2.92 or something like that. But since the head lice episode, I washed and dried it and it's WAY too thick now. She uses a small thin throw-pillow for now til I can get hers flattened again.
booey2 replied: The boys both use them and if you want to make smaller ones from regular sized ones just use the sewing machine and zip it thru twice in the middle to make 2 smaller sized ones from the old flat ones.
