Pictures of the twins - And a question about crawling.

loveydad wrote: Okay, I don't get it. Carter has been up on his hands and knees since 8 months old at LEAST. Clara never bothered. Now Carter's between crawling for what, 2 months!? Clara just sits there and watches him! He's about ready to walk!

WHY won't my baby CRAWL!? Is there something wrong? I mean I know she's only 11 months old, but surely if her brother is, she should be, right!? She's not even trying! She won't move from her little blanket. She doesn't even try to roll around. She's really upset if she's on her tummy.

Help! I don't understand why she's not crawling! When Vincent and Kel were that age, they were both crawling and started crawlling almost the exact same time!

Carter, on his hands and knees at 8 months old

loveydad replied: This is the best Clara's ever done. She held this pose for about..1 minute.

loveydad replied: Clara kissin' on brover

loveydad replied: My smiley girl!

loveydad replied: Carter Crawling around

loveydad replied: Finally, Clara just content as could be, laying on her back. Now she perfers to be sitting up smile.gif unsure.gif

She's also happy in the saucer jumper jumparoo, whatever. The .. thing that they stand in and walk on a piano? step and play piano.

mummy2girls replied: In my experience dont worry! Believe me i worried so much with jenna and just ask the other members here i bombarded them with so much worries!

jenna didnt crawl till she was 12 months. and she didnt start to cruise agaisnt furniture till she was 16 months and she didnt take her first step till she was 21 months... So dont worry. when she is ready she will crawl. Dont push her or else she will not learn. In those pics she is looking like she is perfectly fine and healthy!!!!!!!!

iluvmysweetiepies replied: They are so adorable!!! wub.gif Great pictures! According to the "charts" she's a bit behind. But she was also born premature wasn't she? So if you adjust her age to the due date, she might be right on track. Some babies are just late bloomers. I would talk to your doctor if you are worried. smile.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: Claudia never crawled. She just pulled herself along on the floor like a crab. It was the funniest thing I ever saw. I don't know why she wouldn't be crawling yet, have you talked to your pediatrician? Maybe they would have some advice for you.

wub.gif Very cute pictures! They are both adorable! wub.gif

Alice replied: With all those kids, I bet she doesn't need to move to get any entertainment... they provide it for her.

As someone else said, if you're concerned, run it by your doctor. But all those charts are just guidelines: they tell you what the "average"kid (as if there's any such thing!!) does at a particular point. Half the kids on the planet fall behind that median. As long as her other motor skills are OK- she CAN sit up etc, even though she chooses not to-- enjoy the fact that for the moment, there's only one to worry about being mobile.

mommy2owen replied: We never had a problem with Alyssa. She started crawling when she was 6 months and crawled up until she was 9months old and then started walking. With Owen, he is already starting to take small steps, a few at a time.

Emilysmom_709 replied: Awww they ever adorable! I wouldnt worry so much my daughter didnt want to walk and she was over 1 years old she only started when she was 16 months old lol

texasp3 replied: Aw, don't worry about it - you know babies develop all over the map. And since she and Carter aren't identical twins (obviously) I wouldn't worry just because he's doing one thing and she's doing another.

My older boy NEVER crawled - he went from sitting to walking. Always the different one, that guy.

Kaitlin'smom replied: they are cute

as fro the crawling I would all kids are on different schedules, just because brother does it does not mean she is supposed to. , but if your still worried run it by the ped.

A&A'smommy replied: My neice and nephew neither one walked until they were over 12months old and Savannah I remember NEVER crawled good, Alyssa on the other hand was crawling at six months (on her hands and feet) and was walking by 8months.

loveydad replied:
About five weeks but they're really on track with other things.

You know, what bothers me is she doesn't even WANT to crawl. She seems so..placid. Shes quiet too. She'll grin at me but I have to work at it. I worry it's not autism or something awful.

I'll run it by the doctor. I just get sick of him telling me that they're fine and they develop at their own pace.

Thank you! They light up my life.

texasp3 replied:
Maybe it's just part of her personality. My older son was so content and quiet, my father asked my mother if it was possible that the child was retarded. LOL... that's the kid that just got 100% on his biology, world history and art finals at the end of last semester.

However, you're her parent and I believe in listening to the small voice. If you're truly worried, tell the doc you don't want to be waived off again, that you really are worried, and that you want a developmental assessment done.

I got sick of being waived off by my pediatrician over Gabriel's reflux and found a new doctor. She was shocked at the fact that no tests had been done on him when he's almost a year old and his reflux has shown no signs of dimishing. We're getting him tested because if nothing else, I'll find out that nothing is really wrong with him and then I can relax, be patient and enjoy him instead of freaking out over every burp and worrying that I'm harming him in some way by not taking action.

loveydad replied: I hope so! I'd love to have a quite child. Nicky's quite but he makes his present known.

I'll defiantly ask my doctor though. It just doesn't seem right that she's shown NO signs of wanting to move.
