momtoMegan&Alyxandria replied: I think they are still looking into that. My MIL said it really resembles a birthmark. He has to go see a plastic surgeon, and they also want to scan his brain. Casey can give you more details on that when she is finished with her client. I have been out of the loop for a few days since the kids have been sick and they decided to give it to me as well.

Basically Children's said is pretty common. The skin just didn't grow in on his head right there. It's already scabbing over and healing, like a scrap. Which I think is what it looks like. Basically it looks like he fell and bonked his head, only he came out like that!

They did an ultrasound of his brain yesterday to make sure it had developed ok. From what they could tell everything is completely normal. The plastic surgen I think is on hold, as it's healing on it's own pretty nicely. I think that's worst case senerio, which won't need to happen.

Mom and dad seem to be doing fairly well so far. Time will tell I suppose. So far he seems like a very good baby, doesn't cry too much. But he's only 5 days old so I guess give him time!!
