MommyToAshley wrote: Oh my... have you seen the pictures of the damage that Charely did?

Here's a few:

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families in FL. Cary let us know she was ok, has anyone heard from Amy?

MomToMany replied: ohmy.gif Wow! Those pics were very scary.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone down there too. I'm glad to hear that Cary is fine. I hope Amy is OK unsure.gif .

jcc64 replied: A tree fell on my brother's house in Naples. He said they were petrified during the storm- they piled mattresses on top of themselves in the laundry room. They have little kids, must have been intense!

ediep replied: wow! Those are scary!!!!

momof2girls replied: Sooo scary we could have lost everything if it hit here, but I cant be happy that someone else is going thru soo much. sad.gif

Josie83 replied: Those pictures are awful. . . so much trouble caused by the weather, its weird and so scary. I hope too many people didn't lose everything xx

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I have been watching the non-stop coverage on CNN and I am just awe-struck. I have driven through that area many times and have eaten at the Punta Gorda exit. My family in Naples are all accounted for as well as my family in Cape Coral and Lehigh. My Uncle lives in the Cape and my Mom says that he got very lucky. I was hoping to see if there was any word of Amy today. The Orlando area got hit pretty hard as well. This is reminding of me of Andrew. I was there for that one. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who have lost their homes.

kit_kats_mom replied: I'm home and all is well. It totally missed us. I can not believe how much damage it did down south though. sad.gif I was following power trucks/construction equipment, tree service trucks, red cross & insurance vehicles all the way home on the interstate today.

I'm guessing Amy is ok but we probably wont' hear from her for awhile. My uncle lives in Ocala, near Orlando and he said they had some downed trees but that besides not having power for awhile, they are fine....nothing like where it made inital landfall. She will probably not have power for a few days but I'm sure she will update us when she can.

I'll be thinking of all of the people who were effected by this.

MomToMany replied: I'm glad to hear that Amy's area wasn't hit that hard. I hope we hear from her soon. I feel so bad for everyone who lost their homes and everything sad.gif .

coasterqueen replied: I can't even look at the pictures. I won't be able to sleep tonight if I do. sad.gif My p&pt's have been on overdrive for everyone involved and I sure hope Amy and her family is ok.

paradisemommy replied: wow..those pictures are very scary..and my heart goes out to amy and all those that were hit. i hope you and your family are ok, amy!!! unsure.gif

Josie83 replied: Glad to hear that you are okay, Cary . . . hopefully we will hear from Amy soon xx

ctymom replied: Amazing pictures and scary! What parent let their kids stand at the water like #44??? Man is that nuts or what?? Those waves could have swept them right out! sad.gif mad.gif

And did you get a look at the woman with the pistol guarding her shop?

That was one fierce storm. I've never seen a storm behave like that one did. Most storms that enter the gulf go toward Texas, louisiana (sp?) etc... I've never seen one turn into florida from that angle and pick up speed like that. I think alot of people were shocked by it's power. Hopefully that was the worse to come for anyone.

My thoughts are with them.

lsjulee replied: I heard the news and my thoughts were with those affected. Oh my!! ohmy.gif Hope to hear from Amy soon too.

A&A'smommy replied: I couldn't look at them all bawling.gif I hope everyone is alright!

amynicole21 replied: I hadn't seen a lot of these pics... some of them were taken in the towns that border mine (Altamonte Springs, Maitland, etc.) It was horrible... people were looting and there were curfiews set in all of the cities around me. No one could find gas, ice or water anywhere, let alone hotel rooms to stay in. We are still under a boil water alert at work because the water mains broke. wacko.gif

Heather replied: It really is so sad. I feel for everyone down there. My Dad just moved from FL a week prior. The hurricane went right over where he lived. I am so glad he was gone.
