Pics from the park today

MommyToAshley wrote: We went to the park today and I snapped a few pics. I was a little disappointed when I got home and discovered I had my camera on the wrong settings. But, I thought I'd share our day at the park with you anyways.

If you look closely, you can see there is still a tear on her cheek. A few minutes before this, she hit her head on the metal bar on top of the slide. I didn't realize the tear was there until I saw the picture.

jcc64 replied: Allright, who'd she get those long legs from- totally unfair- I want them! rolling_smile.gif
She's so precious, such a beautiful smile, lovely hair, but most of all, she just radiates exuberance, and looking at her pics always brings a smile to my face. It doesn't hurt that you're a great photog- loved the one where you must have been beneath the bars- looking up. And how do you get the little shot of color in the flowers in an otherwise b and w pic?

MommyToAshley replied:
I know some cameras come with software that will do this, but I used Photoshop since that is what I am familiar with. There's probably an easier way, but I just opened the photo, made a duplicate layer of the same photo that was b/w (so the color photo was underneath it) and then I erased the part on the top b/w layer that I wanted to be color (so the color photo was showing through the part I erased). I normally don't do too much post-editing to my photos, it's usually what you see is what I took. But, I just thought this technique would be neat on that photo. I might do the same thing to the other flower photos and hand them as a grouping of 5X7's.

coasterqueen replied: Great pics!!! She is really getting big. wub.gif

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: She is so pretty and I can't believe how long her hair is!

bawoodsmall replied:
she is gorgeous. I love the pics. The tongue one is cute. That hair would drive me crazy though. I am going to get Em's cut soon becuase it gets so ratty. Does hers get ratty? Em's is pretty curly though. Bye Bye curls i am sure.

amynicole21 replied: She looks more and more like you as she grows, Dee Dee. wub.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
It wasn't hard... that was my first attempt and it was super easy. You'll have to post your pics after you give it a try -- I want to see them!

MommyToAshley replied:
For all those that asked -- Her hair is really easy to take care of, it just takes a little extra shampoo and conditioner. It does take a few extra minutes to rinse out in the shower. It doesn't get ratty or tangles, maybe because I use a detangler on her at night? You probably can't tell in those pictures because her hair is so wind-blown as it was a windy day, but, her hair is a smooth silky texture so tangles just slide out. It's super straight too, so that probably has something to do with it. It only takes a few minutes to comb and we do ponytails and braids a lot because I can't stand hair in her face.
