Photoshop ...
Mommy2Isabella wrote: Who is profiecient in it... ?
AND do you know how to make all of the photo black and white, except certain things? Such as a baby ... lol !!
cameragirl21 replied: I use photoshop quite a bit but what you're looking to do requires layers and quite a bit of work so I usually hire a graphic artist to do that for me when I do that. What version do you have?
Mommy2Isabella replied: 6.0 ... I am pretty good with it. I was reading in a book today how to do it ... but I guess I didn't finish reading because I don't know what to do next and its not in black and white .. LOL
cameragirl21 replied: you have an older version which I've never used before. I can tell you how to make the picture b/w but if you want to keep some of it in color you first have to make it b/w and then create another layer and return the color to just that area, using the history brush. Basically, make another layer, trace around what you want in color and then go over it with the history brush. Btw, I meant to ask you--what kind of business do you have?
Mommy2Isabella replied: THANKS! I guess that makes sense!
What Kind of Business do I have?
A marketing company. Helping fortune 500 companies trasition to the web.
cameragirl21 replied: Interesting business! How did you get into something like this so young?! BTW, I can always use help with marketing, but I have a website and am on the web, do you do other marketing beyond that?
Mommy2Isabella replied: I think it just kind of fell into our hands. Most of ours is web-based as well.
Other marketing beyond that ... not right now but would LOVE TO. I love it ! What do you do?
Do you have an Instant messenger service where we could chat ...
cameragirl21 replied: I'm a professional photographer but I'm starting a greeting card business in addition to that, which will be based on my photography and I'm hoping to get big enough to compete with Hallmark at some point in the not so distant future...a girl can dream.... At the risk of sounding obnoxious and big headed, I will say that I am very good at what I do (as a photographer) but I'm not so great with marketing...can always use help with that. I have yahoo messenger, what messenger do you have?
Mommy2Isabella replied: I have AIM and MSN ... I don't have a yahoo account .. lol ! Just thought it would be easier to chat thru a messenger service
cameragirl21 replied: yeah, it would be easier to chat thru messenger. Maybe you could email me at jennifer121@gmail.com and tell me a little more about what you do because I can always use help with marketing, especially now that I'm starting another company that will go far beyond just my immediate area, which is pretty much what a photography business is....
AlexsPajamaMama replied: I know how to make a photo black and white with only some color
I use paint shop pro 7...its not too hard
I'll send you in info Jessi
Mommy2Isabella replied: One second and I will make a Yahoo account, it is something I have been meaning to do anyways and then I will download the messenger that way we can chat ...
cameragirl21 replied: that sounds great, Jess, thanks.
Mommy2Isabella replied: done ... My Yahoo ID is ... JVilardo31@yahoo.com
cameragirl21 replied: ok, great, give me one sec, ok?
Mommy2Isabella replied: alright
cameragirl21 replied: Jessica, I Im'd you but you're not answering, are you getting the IM?
J-rod replied: pm me or email me the pic and ill do it for you...if i cant ill get it done in the office tomorrow... i have all PS versions 6.0 - 9.0
Mommy2Isabella replied: Can you tell me how to do it ... lol
Mommy2Isabella replied: ??? J-Rod
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Select All (control A) copy and paste It will form another layer. Remove Color in the top layer (Shift- Ctl- U if I remember correctly) then use your eraser and erase whatever you want to be in color. Sorry if the instructions suck...that is the best I can describe
J-rod replied: ^^^^ what she said is a pretty good basic way to do it...try that first.
Mommy2Isabella replied: AHH HA ... IT WORKS!! Thank you so much!!
MyLuvBugs replied: It doesn't require a lot of layers and it doesn't take a lot of time. I do it all the time. Just use the magnetic lasso tool to select what you want left in color, then select the inverse of that. Then select "desaturate" and voila the remainder of the image is in b&w while what you originally selected is left in color. Let me know if you need help or have questions.
