Phobias

I used be terrified of hospitals... the smell and environment of it just freaked me out. I couldnt visit anyone unless someone was with me.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: I really don't like hospitals. I don't know if it's because over the last year I've spent about 8 weeks in the hospital on the psychiatric floor. Which let me tell you isn't the best place to be, but when you need to be there it serves its purpose. I think it's because of what I saw on that floor and how I was treated by the doctors on that floor. I"ve never really liked hospitals.

kit_kats_mom replied: I'm a total weenie when it comes to spiders. I don't mind snakes, other bugs or even rats/mice but spiders make me cry. I think it has to do with a bad drug reaction I had as a teenager. I was hallacunating that every hair on my body (arm hairs etc) were baby spiders. They were all over me and I was freaking out. I didn't really have a problem with them before then.

5littleladies replied: I'm afraid of heights but I'm more afraid of closed spaces so I put that. We went to some caves once and the tour guide told us that sometimes the "explorers" (or whatever you call them) would have to crawl flat on their faces through tunnels for a half a mile or more. When he told us that I let out an involuntary shriek-The thought of that totally creeped me out. Everyone laughed at me-I was really embarassed.

I am afraid of heights but if I am strapped in to something I do okay so roller coasters and ferris wheels aren't a big problem for me.

paradisemommy replied: i put other..i have a total phobia of talking in front of people..doesn't matter if there's a million, a hundred or even a dozen..if they are people i don't know, my heart starts racing and i talk a million miles an hour...lol

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Okay I put down spiders. I am seriously afraid of spiders. I hate them. When I was a little girl I saw this advertisement for a movie and one of the scenes had a spider falling from the ceiling into someone's mouth. I am pretty sure this is where I got my phobia. I am so terrified of them that I usually have to find someone to kill them for me. I have not found any big spiders in my house here in Hawaii (knock on wood), but in Florida there are some pretty big and hairy ones. I think if I had to pick a secondary phobis that would be heights.

MommyToAshley replied: I put down spiders too, but I am afraid of any bug. And, I am also not too fond of heights. Hmmm, need another category for big scaredy cats like me.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm scared of water. I don't like big bodies of water such as lakes or the ocean. I will go in them, but the thought of them makes me weak in the knees. Being on a boat frightens me and driving over water (on a bridge) scares me and makes me shake. Swimming pools are fine.

kimberley replied: i am terrified of heights *except* for flying in a plane. i guess i have travelled so much since i was 6yo, i don't really feel like i am up high.

Jamison'smama replied: I am not afraid of spiders but roaches make me absolutely crazy--- When we lived in Phoenix, there were roaches everywhere ---ick ick ick.

I am also afraid of really small spaces. Elevators and the like are fine but I am with Taven's mommy, being on my belly crawling through a cave terrifies me.

I am also fearful of fire--my house burning down etc. I like fires in the fireplace or campfires and candles but the thought of a house fire scares me a lot.


So, I am another scaredy cat!

I am afraid of snakes. If I seen one outside my house I will run inside, lock all the windows and doors until Dh shows me that it's dead thru the window He won't kill them anymore, but will take them down to the river, so I know there away from me

I have a fear of small spaces. Like caves, tunnels, etc. I don't mind elevators and such, though.

I also have MAJOR food phobias If I haven't tasted something, my mind automatically tells me that I'm going to hate it or it's going to taste gross, so if I do try it then I will immediately throw up. Unfortunately my food phobias include most fruits and vegetables. I've been told it's a "texture" thing for me. Weird.

the texture thing is true my husband has the same problem although he will try them but most of the time he doesnt like them.
