Pets
mckayleesmom wrote: What kind of pets does everyone have? We have a guinea pig named Speedy.....I don't know if anyone else has one, but when we were thinking...low maintanance, quiet, cuddly.....YA RIGHT...that thing was great in the beggining....she was quiet, but then we got another one named Zipper that was noisy, and it ended up dying not long after, we are still not sure how it died. ....well it tought Speedy how to be annoying before it died. She is the most annoying pet I have ever owned. She won't let you hold her. She screams constantly . She was owned before and is kind of skittish, so I think the people before didn't treat her that well. She can be cute and quiet sometimes, but its rare. Just thought I would Share.
5littleladies replied: We have 2 cats. Oscar is older, huge and very easy going (the girls can drag him around by his tail and he doesn't even flinch ) and then we have a new kitten named Samwise, he seems to be a good cat so far-keeping our fingers crossed!!
~CrazieMama~ replied: We have 2 dogs and a cat. Doberman: Bebo, Rot: Happy and Siamese: Sassy (our watch cat...lol)
MomToJade&Jordan replied: We have a dog named Heidi. She is Jade's best friend. She chases Heidi around the house saying Doggie and she even says Heidi. We also have a pet rabbit and a fish.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Wow that is surprising! My nephew had a guinea pig and his was so friendly, calm and quiet! Maybe you just got an off one! Anyway we have 2 cats Jack-in-the-box and Remmington Steele, 1 dog Sandy Beach and 5 fish all named Harry (they belong to my DS he's 6) So we have quite the full house now! The cats are older and the dog is pretty young! The dog is soooooo jealous of the baby! Whenever someone comes over she is right in their face and won't let them near the baby until they at least pet her and give her a treat!
supermom replied: Currently, we have a cat and a dog (the cat is totally inside, and the dog never comes in the house) plus a chinchilla and the snake my oldest DS hasn't come to pick up yet. We have also had a ferret, goats, more cats and dogs, a rabbit, and various other assortments of critters, like guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, etc. etc......
Since Anders, though, I haven't had time to take care of many, so our pet population has dwindled quite a bit.
DansMom replied: We have two cats, both female, a small calico named Juniper and a large orange tabby named Pilar. Juniper loves Daniel and guards him all day while staying just out of reach. Pilar just stays as far away as she can.
Kaitlin'smom replied: 3 cats
Tia (8) the oldest grey tiger kitty only sees Kaitlin whe she is on our bed
Staci (6) long haird black cat, pretty much stays away from her she is deffinalty DH's cat she follows him to whatever room he is in.
Cami (2) calico she is not quite sure of Kaitlin, want to play with her but not sure. She used to run to DH when Kaitlin would cry either to say whats wrong or please make her shut up, not sure which it was.
Mommieto2Girls replied: We have 3 dogs and 1 cat. Our cat is Tiger Two,7yrs, of course he is a tiger stripe. The dogs are Chrissy,10(whippet-sharpae mix), Rocky,6 (rot-dobie mix), and Bandit,13 (dautson).
jdkjd replied: Two kitties inside: Ollie and Mallory (both of whom Bailey loves!) and Outside Semi-Wild Kitties: Mama Kitty and Little Kitty (or Twisty because she had some kind of injury where her head is tilted-kind of like she's looking at your quizzically)
Heather replied: We have 3 house cats (Kali, Chloe and Lacey)...and a million fish....
MamaMartie replied: I had 2 guina pigs in college. They were very loud, smelly, skiddish, and frankly annoying. I've heard that they can live for up to 18 years. I ended up giving mine away b/c I developed an allergy to them.
We have a dog (shepard/lab mix) Kasey who is a good dog with the kids. We had a cat who chewed on every wire she could find and had moved on to the kids toys. She chewed through the phone wire and it stated smoking and she chewed through the scanner wire just enough to make it spark. She is no longer with us, thank God. We also have an assortment of 5 fish.
I had cats as a child, but I've also developed an allergy to them and our oldest is allergic to cats. I think the kids have learned a lot from the pets we've had (sensitivity and responsibility). That said, once the dog dies, no more big pets. I love animals, but we are never home and I am the one who cares for them. I just don't have the energy for new pets. KWIM? Plus with all the allergies that keep popping up in our house, maybe fish are the best pets for us.
chloe&tysmommy replied: we have an indoor/outdoor cat named Nermal- everyone laughs at the name and I always say we got the name from the cartoon Garfield( Nermal was garfields friend).
and we also have a big border collie/husky doggie named Buddy, hes a real sweetheart and loves kids!
Oh yeah, and a rabbit named Ozzy lol
mckayleesmom replied: Ya i think we are going to go and take our Ginea pig back to the pet store. Dh is going to murder her soon if we don't..lol...Lately she has been throwing her litter out of her cage too and we can't have that once mckaylee starts crawling. Hopefully someone else has more patience for her. I told him we should have gotten a rabbit. But, oh no...guinea pigs are the perfect quiet pet. YA RIGHT! I shouldn't have listened to him, especially since he never had one. Ive had a rabbit.
3xsthefun replied: We have 3 cats Fuzzy Wuzzy(2 years old) she is black and white she has medium lenght fur. Ozzie(1 and 1/2 year old) he is solid black and short haired. Then we have Tigger he is (5 months old) orange and white and has medium length fur.
We also have 2 dogs- Ginger(1 and 1/2 year old female) she is a Miniature Pinscher mix. She is my baby. And Ruff(9 year old male) he is my hubby's dog he is a Collie/Spitz mix.
1 Guinea Pig- Wiggy Pig he is about 1 year old. We all love him to death especially my husband. Only time he squeeks is when he is out of food or water. And he looks to be strached behind the ears.
1 Rabbit- Hershey she is a 3 year Dwarf Rabbit. She is white with black markings.
mckayleesmom replied: I swear I have the most annoying ginea pig in the world...She didn't squeek at all until we got the other one that was noisy. That one was really annoying too, and then it passed it on to her before it died, She doesn't just squeek, she screams. She has food, she has water. she gets treats. she gets bathed, she is always allowed to run around the house...What more does she want? She screams when you go to the refridgerator cause she thinks shes getting grapes . We should have stuck with fish. Im a very patient person too, but Im getting sick of being the referee between her and my husband who constantly tries to take her outside and let her go . We accidentally left our windows open when we weren't home one day and it got cold and killed the fish...Poor Gordon
