I'm a little partial to pearls myself. They're my birthstone (even though it's not a stone) .

When my mom and stepdad got together he gave me this super delicate necklace that had one pearl on it. He said that he would add one each year. Well we got up to 3 and then he and my mom divorced. But I think he was still planning on filling it up at some point. Then (it's been 6 years) he was killed in a motorcycle accident so the little necklace with just 3 pearls means a lot to me. I'd be distraught if I ever lost it.
