Patrick Swayze Diagnosed With Cancer, Five Weeks Left to Live
Atlanta, GA 3/05/2008 03:05 PM GMT (FINDITT)
Patrick Swayze, best known for his role in Dirty Dancing, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and told that he has just five weeks to live.
Swayze, 55, has been sick with the disease since he was diagnosed in late January with pancreatic cancer. The cancer has since spread to other organs and now the actor/dancer is dying.
For the past month, Swayze has been traveling to Stanford University’s prestigious cancer center in Palo Alto for radical chemotherapy, but his doctors are no longer optimistic that the treatments will be successful, according to the National Enquirer.
Swayze received three treatments of chemotherapy, causing the tumor to shrink, but less than his doctors had hoped for. He was then told that he should prepare for the end.

Kaitlin'smom replied: no no no
jcc64 replied: This is from the Enquirer- and they've had other people erroneously dying before, but if it's true, so sad. Pancreatic cancer's a big one- no coming back from that one.
amynicole21 replied: I thought of that, too. I searched online and didn't find anything else about it - hope it's fake.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I was going to say what Jeanne said...that it's hard to trust what the Enquirer says, but if true, I'm so sad for him and his family. My good friend's MIL was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year. Told she only had a short time, but she has outlived what they told her. Hopefully that will be the same for him.
Kaitlin'smom replied: oh I did not realise the source I so hope its NOT true.
mommy~to~a~bunch replied: OMG, that is so sad if it's true!
sparkys2boys replied: If it is true.. so so sad. What a shame
A&A'smommy replied: OMG I just pray it is NOT true!!!! I'm still holding out hope that they will do a follow up movie with him and Jennifer Grey about what happened after the movie ended
3xsthefun replied: Well, I hope it is not true. If it is that is so sad.
I think it is awful if it is made up. My husband's grandma passed away 5 years ago because she had pancreatic cancer. It was really awful to see the way that suffered in the last few weeks that she lived. I just don't think it is something to take to lightly or to even make a false story about really makes me upset.
TheOaf66 replied: the article came from the Enquirer so take that for what you will.
grapfruit replied: I just looked online and there are a ton of other articles by different sources They're all about the same as the Enquirer though... *fingers crossed*
mckayleesmom replied: I only found articles from a canadian newspaper and it also said this \
Reports are yet to be confirmed, and a representative for the actor told BANG Showbiz: “I don’t know anything about this, I’ll have to get back to you with more details.”
If he is announcing it...as they say...then wouldn't his own reps know about it?
My2Beauties replied: I just googled it and there are lots of articles but all reference the Enquirer, so I'm guessing by tomorrow a lot of these sources will confirm or deny the Enquirer's arrticle Gosh, how awful if this is true.
grapfruit replied: Good point! here's to hoping it's false. And if it is, I hope the Enquirer has it's lawyers ready
holley79 replied: That is the saddest news I have heard all day.
Crystalina replied: This was updated on FoxNews 12 minutes ago.
I also read that The Enquirer was the first source and others are jumping on the story repeating.
I guess you just have to wait and see.
What a shame if it's true.
Crystalina replied: I just wanted to add that I went to the Official Patrick Swayze International Fan Club and there is absolutely nothing at all about pancreatic cancer or even that he's sick at all.
I'm not in the Johnny Depp fan club but I am part of a forum and I know that if he farts in a pub in France I know about it here before the guy sitting next to him gets wind of it. A bit fangirly yes but those girls over there on on top of things. I would just assume the PS fanclub would know something of this.
mckayleesmom replied: I doubt its true.....
Jackie012007 replied: LOL!!!!
I really hope it's not true! Given that it's from The Enquirer, I highly doubt it is!
Boys r us replied: OMG..so terrible!! my grandfather had pancreatic cancer and it was so unbelievably painul for him...he was on morphine and in a coma at the end and he was STILL yelling in pain. I feel for anyone, famous or not, who has to pass that way! I just can't imagine knowing you are going to die..I think that would be such a profoundly sad moment.
Calimama replied: I hope it's false. What a horrible way to go.
Kaitlin'smom replied: so we really dunno if its true or not
moped replied: OMG
