Parking Spots

AlexsPajamaMama wrote: Do you fight for a parking spot close to the store? Like if some one is loading their stuff into their car do you sit and wait for them to leave just so you can get their parking spot??

I hate when people do that! That is, only if it affects me trying to park or leave the parking lot.

This mornig I went to Walmart (By Myself!!) and I was just thinking about how silly it is sometimes when people try soo hard to get a spot as close to the store as they can. I know, some people need to park close for certain reasons.

Today is a BEAUTIFUL day after about 7 days of rain....so I didnt mind walking at all! sunflower.gif sunflower.gif

lisar replied: I am not picky about my parking spot. I will park wherever there is an open spot. I will not wait for someone to load thier items and pull out. I hate waiting I have no patience.

mammag replied: If I see someone loading up their car and it is close, yes, I will wait for the spot. I don't consider that fighting for the spot though. I do always leave more than enough room for them to pull out of their spot. Also, if they have a whole cart for of groceries and a bunch of kids to get into their chairs I'll just move on. I only wait if it is obvious they will be done quickly.

It doesn't really bother me when others do it either as long as they are being considerate about it.

Bee_Kay replied: Nope, I don't try and get as close to the store as I can.

As far as waiting.... only if I am driving and someone has their reverse lights on wink.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: guess you could say it depends on the weather laugh.gif if its cold, snowing, raning then yes I try and get close. But if its nice out then nope I would rather have the extra steps.

BAC'sMom replied: No I don't wait for parking spots.

aspenblue1 replied: Nope I am actually the opposite. I tend to park as far away as I can so nobody will park next to my car. Plus its good exercise.

Bee_Kay replied: OKAY! I'll admit something I do sometimes......

If I am in a hurry and there aren't any parking spots close.... I'll park out front of the store & I'll hand Ashley or Tyler the money and ask them to run into the store for me (for toilet paper or something like that) blush.gif

mckayleesmom replied: Nope....I usually will park out in the boonies and walk.

Momof3inMe replied:
When its nice out like today I will park far away, but if it's raining I will try to get close. I don't waite for poeple I will just try to find a close one on my own.

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: I park wherever I find a space. I am not going to drive around for 5 minutes to get a closer parking spot. I have legs I can walk!!

JP&KJMOM replied: Normally don't wait either but if I see someone coming out (meaning already in car with it in reverse) then yes I will stop and wait.

But when the kids were little and still in car seats etc. I did take longer and try to park closer as to not have to lug the carrier to far.

ashtonsmama replied: I'll usually wait if I think they'll pull out soon, but if they're just walking to their car and have to load kids and groceries, no.

I've been trying to park actually FARTHER away lately when I can to get more excercise in...Lord knows I need it.

C&K*s Mommie replied: Jeannie and Amanda said what I would have said, if they are close to finishing then I will, that is also if I happen to be on the same aisle. If I am not, I do not zoom around to get that one spot on another aisle. Most of the time, I just park far away and walk- by the time I would have waited I could have been in the store already. Even with the girls, we just take a stroll from a distance and go from there.

3xsthefun replied: I'm not really that picky about where I park. I will park wherever I find a empty space.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I'll wait, but I make sure there is enough room for someone to go around me. And I am polite and don't steal spots from other people...If they were there first and waiting, it's their's. I expect the same in return, but it doesn't always happen. At my college, parking was horrendous...you would literally have to get there an hour or more early and just wait for an empty spot, so maybe I'm used to that. I would literally turn off the car and just wait.....and wait......if you didn't time it right, you wouldn't get to class. So I guess it's taught me to have parking spot radar...wait and then get in as soon as you can.

kayla's mama replied: We are bad we park as far away from the store and as far away from other cars and we take up 2 spaces 'cuz we don't want anyone parking next to us and 2) I can't park the beast that well rolleyes.gif

kimberley replied: i am a waiter... and even sometimes a follower lol. a lot of our malls have insufficient parking so we hang near the front of an aisle and watch where people go when they leave the store. but i don't feel bad about it. with winter/cold/yuck more than half the year, i am not dragging 4 kids a mile from the lot to the store.

the good thing is the newer stores all having parent parking near the front. thumb.gif

Brias3 replied: If its raining or really cold out, I try and park closer but have been forcing myself to park further for the extra walking alone. Plus, being farther out in the lot doesn't run me as big a risk of someone hitting my car, knocking a cart into it, etc. I can usually get out of the lot alot easier if I'm further away too.

luvmykids replied: My main thing is being able to get the kids to a cart quickly, I have a fear of one of them launching away and not being able to grab them so I try to at least be close to the cart corral thingies, that way I can strap Macie in and have the twins hang on the cart handle with my arms on either side of them.

holley79 replied: I don't wait. I figure that as long as I have to wait for an up close parking spot I can already be in the store and starting my shopping. biggrin.gif

luvbug00 replied: I park as close as possible to the store less milage to Drag Mya emlaugh.gif
