P&PT's needed

MM'sMama wrote: Here's a little background.....Not this past saturday but the one before that Brice did this thing where he seemed like he was gasping for air and made this sound. But stopped like a second later and smiled. So I thought he was just screwing with me esp. mad.gif since it was the first day Caroline and I were home. Well then today he did it again like he was gasping for air only this time he collapsed and his eyes rolled back and he was unresponsive. He stopped within 15 seconds but OMG I'll tell you want it was the longest 15 seconds of my life. So I am freaking out and crying and completely historical. I call DH at work and tell him to meet us at the ER. I called me mom to drive us I didn't think I could I was freaking out so much. In the car is happens again only this time it lasted for almost a minute and I was about to have a heart attach.
Well it turns out Brice has seizers (not sure if that is spelled right) they ran a whole bunch of test and told me to watch him closely and not to leave him alone at all. Prescribed some med's and said to keep track of them how often how long etc. He has had a total of 5 today 2 before we got to the ER 2 there and one since we have been home.
Guys this is really scary and I feel so helpless. It breaks my heart and is by far the worst thing I have witnessed. Please please keep us in your though's I am so scared and worry and at a complete loss. bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif

mummy2girls replied: OMG! i am sos orry! that has to be the scariest thing ever! So will you know what they are caused by...

CCTandME replied: hug.gif great big hugs for Brice. I hope all works out for you. Did they give you any ideas what may be causing this?

mckayleesmom replied: That is scary....tons of prayers and positive thoughts coming your way.

MM'sMama replied: Thank you everyone hug.gif I am just so scared DH and I both just keep bawling.gif and bawling.gif. When the tests come back they should tell us whats going on and if not they will do more. We are just so worried about our little man and will NOT let him out of my sight for even a second. bawling.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: hug.gif I don't blame you for being frightened. Just for your own peace of mind, are you certified in child CPR? I took a class and keep my certs up for my job, but it makes me feel better that I can assist if need be. My prayers will be for you and Brice tonight. hug.gif

MM'sMama replied:
Yes I am I use to do child care so I am in all that wonderful stuff and have kept it all current. (thank god)

punkeemunkee'smom replied: I am so sorry-that is too scary! Did he have a fever? Even a slight temp can spike and cause a Febrial(sp?) convulsion. Conversely has he had any immunization boosters recently? Tay siezed with one of her shots. I will be praying for your family, for quick answers ,and speedy recovery! hug.gif

holley79 replied: I am so sorry sweetie. I hope they find the cause as soon as possible. I'm not sure if you pedi has email or not. I use to have to document when Sarah had seizures and the best way to do it was with Excel. Great big hugs for you and Brice hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

kayla's mama replied: OMG how scary. I will keep Brice and you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope the meds work. hug.gif

CantWait replied: omg how scary is that. I'm so sorry. I hope that the tests results come back positive and they're able to control his seizures at the very least with meds. Big hugs to all of you hug.gif hug.gif

MM'sMama replied:
I don't knwo if he had one at home at all but he did not at all in the ER.

I never thought of that but he has not had any shots of any kind since right after he turned 4.

KNow one in my family has ever had them that we know of or in DH's that we know of.

So I have know idea what could be the cause but I hope they find out soon bawling.gif. So far today he has not had any thank god but if he so much as breathed a litte wrong I was right with him blush.gif. At one point he was so annoyed at me he actually said "WHAT MOMMA WHAT?!?!?!" blink.gif ok sorry. blush.gif

Thank you for all your P&PT's everyone hug.gif

my2monkeyboys replied: My second cousin is 5 years old, and about 6 months ago he started having seizures. The doctors said they are caused by stress... he father was put in jail (though he thought he had gone out of town on work) and his mother moved him and his 2 brothers twice within 3 months (to different states). He has medication he takes 2 times a day, and so far he hasn't had any more. They say he should grow out of it as he gets older.
Hopefully it will be something similar with your son.
Lots of prayers and hugs! Please keep us posted! hug.gif hug.gif

amymom replied: I just saw this today.

How scary for you. I hope Brice will be ok Keep us updated.

Lots of Prayers being said for you guys.

jcc64 replied: Hugs to you! My ds started having seizures in his sleep last winter, and just recently had one while napping in the car as well. It is completely terrifying, as you know. We have an appt with a neurologist on Mon., but I am pretty certain he has a type of epilepsy that occurs only in childhood. There are many different forms of epilepsy- some require meds, some don't. Some go away, some don't. Hopefully you will have answers soon, and from the little bit of research I've done so far, it seems that is entirely possible for your child to live a normal life once you know what you're dealing with.
Best of luck, and try to stay calm in the meantime. You don't want to alarm your little guy.
