I guess ya'll can tell this is the first time she has actually been sick with the stomach bug because I don't have a clue what to do other than give her gatoraid, pedialyte and popsicles I mean what else can I do for her?? I have a towel laying accross her shirt so when she wakes up to puke she wont get it all over her shirt and feel umcomfortable she cried when I changed her shirt last time.... and I"m SOO tired I have had MAYBE an hour of sleep but I'm NOT going to sleep with her feeling sick like this and I'm trying to let jeremiah get some sleep so he wont be COMPLETLY exhausted tomorrow he was up until five with us and then I told him to go to bed... ugh I think I'm rabbling now anyway what should I do????
edited to say: I usually don't ever drink everyonce in a while I will have one or half of one.. anyway I think its an oman that I should never drink
luvmykids replied: Oh I'm so sorry for both of you! If DH is up to going to the pharmacy I swear by the coke syrup over ice, it has directions on the bottle. If not, do you have a coke at home? (Coca-cola, not the others, they don't have the same syrup) It has an anti-nausea in it and has worked for our family for generations!
Is she puking a lot, or just what you give her to drink? If so, I'd lay off more between drinks and it should still only be little sips, not a whole cup and give it a good 20-30 minutes between. They want to chug a sippy full because they're so thirsty but try itty bitty sips 15-20 minutes apart until she can keep it down. And if she happens to conk out, let her sleep.
I think I'd call the ped anyway, he may call in a suppository of phenergen (sp) if he thinks it sounds bad.
A&A'smommy replied: dh has just gotten up and he is now sick so its just me and alyssa I called my ped the on call nurse should be calling back soon I feel bad for them having to call me back on easter....
she is only taking a couple of sips and I'm making her take them really slow she is sleeping again and this time for more than 15minutes so that is good...
b&bsmom replied: I have BTDT my dd had 104 when she was 1 and could keep nothing down, try pedilyte either drink or pops that can help. Also flat soda, ginger ale. might help with the stomach and I agree little sips, I know it is hard. If she real lethargic I would take her to the er for an iv. It is better to be safe then sorry. Good luck and hope she is better soon. Hope you get some sleep as well.
gr33n3y3z replied: thats what I was going to suggest I hope she feels better

I really don't have any advice except maybe give her what the others said.
Maegan is still sick too. Looks like we might be taking a trip to the doctor tomorrow.
mummy2girls replied: awwww poor Alyssa And mommy too! Jenna has been sick as well since sat at 130am but she has only vomitted 3 x's and is now battling afever!
What i did with Jenna when she had the nasty bug like alyssa is sips of pedilyte/gatorade.. and if she throws it up give her tummy to rest and try again and once she is able to keep down those sips then gradually increase the amounts. popsicles and freezies is another option to get some liquids in her. ( which i see you have done already).
if she isnt peeing, no tears when she cries, chapped dry lips, dry mouth, and another thing is..if you squeeze her finger tip and if it stays white and doesnt go back to her color then that is a sign as well..
stay away from dairy!
A&A'smommy replied: she is doing better now she has thrown up twice more since about 3pm so that is good were hoping she is done with that but I guess we will see, she is eating a popsicle right now.. I have been getting her to take VERY small sips of pedialyte I have been absolutly TERRIFIED of her getting dehydrated.. I think one of the worse ways to be sick is like this (for common things). We have had lots of help and people coming around checking on us.. so that has been nice. We even got invited to go to a friends house and said to bring alyssa if she is feeling up to it so that made us feel loved anyway thanks for the advice and the hugs it was helpful to this first time mom
C&K*s Mommie replied: anytime you need help with the first time mommy concerns.... the ladies here will help
mckayleesmom replied: Try giving her a saltine cracker before giving her something to drink...it helps absorb a little of the fluid.....even if she pukes after....the cracker still sucked some in. I had to do that with Mckaylee one time.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Oh poor sweet girl! I've BTDT just about two weeks ago...it's awful and SCARY! We took Wil to the ped twice over that week and they prescribed a suppository (anal) that helps stop the vomitting. I never tried it since he stopped vomitting on his own, but you may want to ask about it. I forget the name. Other than that, I think you're doing the right thing with the gatorade and popsicles. Will she suck on a wet washcloth or ice chips? Just make sure she doesn't spike a fever and just let her rest as much as possible. It will pass. A little bit of dry toast or crackers like Bri suggested may help if she'll take it, but don't worry about food at all.
Hoping she gets better ASAP!
kimberley replied: poor baby and mommy too i hope she is a bit better and you got some rest. don't beat yourself up about going out and having a few. stuff happens and i think most of us have BTDT. we all know what a great mommy you are.
Kaitlin'smom replied: Kait has that in Feb it was horrible, I camped out in the living room with her all night, I also worried about dehydration. Your doing well little sips, when she can keep it down popsicles are great. DO watch our cause one she is done throwing up she might get Diarrhea. Thankfully Kait did not but I know may others who had this and got it after.
Hope she is better.
