I'm from sunny California, never had to deal with snow. The cooldest it gets here in the winter is 40-50 degrees at night. Sometimes in the 30's...but that's rare.
The only elements we have to deal with is FOG, yuck...horrible to drive in. Sometime frost, but never snow. 2 hours from where I live is the mountains, and it snows there. So we can drive up, make a snowman, and go home! Right now I'm wearing sandals and a T Shirt. Some winter for me!
Sorry to rub it in, you wanna come visit?
You'll just have to pay outrageous gasoline prices, it's now $2.80 a gallon! and to buy a house here crazy! The cheapest house you can find is $200,000 and that's a shack!

But at least I'm not cold!

amymom replied: I am in Northern NY. It is warming up so I guess we will be getting loads of snow. It is a 'warm' 17 degrees F. right now. I have been subbing at school so part of me is hoping for a big snow so we can have a snow day...... but part of me doesn't want one, since... if there is lots of snow, hubby can't work, If hubby doesn't work no MONEY.

coasterqueen replied: Well I am the abnormal here, I'll take your snow. Even after that 8.5 hour adventure from Chicago to my house (which normally only takes 3 to 3.5 hours) I still want more snow. All our snow keeps melting and we've gotten more snow than usual this time of the year. I so desperately want snow for Christmas.

MommyofTwins replied: Where are you? That sounds like my weather report~! My kid sister's school was closed today for that very reason. [Oh, if your wondering about how I could have a kid sister in school, I'm only 24 she's 15 big age difference she's basically a "menopause baby"]

amymom replied: Well, we got ice most of the night, then it started snowing around 5am. It is 7:15am now. About 6 inches added to our foot that was out there. My daughter will be in heaven today. She loves to play in the snow!

No school today, so
1. I didn't need to work (I have been subbing at school) I wonder if I get paid?
2. My dd Christmas concert was scheduled today. I wonder when that will be
3. Hubby won't be able to work too much, less money this week.
4. I will have time for cleaning today, laundry today and shopping this weekend!!

jacobsmama replied: Sounds like Indiana weather...8 inches of snow last week. Sleet and ice today..Tommorrow suppose to get more snow!

MommyToAshley replied: We've had quite a bit of snow here too... but last night was aweful. Everything froze and turned to ice. The temp dropped quickly and the salt trucks weren't out yet... the roads were horrible and there were three deaths on the highway. Sad and scary night.

The road were good today and it snowed a little more. I'll take snow over ice any day!!!

amymom replied: snow is way better than ice. We had a coating of ice and then it turned out to be about 8-12 inches of snow. (depends on who you ask).
My daughter's hockey practice was even canceled (that NEVER happens).

Why do men do this? Mine will leave the house in his stupid early middle age car (rear wheel drive Mustang) in the middle of a snowstorm just to rent a video game.

As for weather, cold (8 degrees this morning), clear skies and hopefully it will hold until Thursday when I have to drive 250 miles to pick up my grandmother for Christmas.
