I just got my weekly babycenter pregnancy update via email. The title "Week 40, your newborn".

Uh, nope. I don't have my newborn yet. Someone please tell me how I can go around dilated at least 1cm since November 23rd but still not have a baby.

I'm really, really hoping she comes soon. My mom is coming down to stay with K while I'm in the hospital but she will be unable to stay from the 4th through the 6th of Jan because her boss has to go out of town for a conference and there are only two of them in the department. So, I'm calling my doc tomorrow to see if they will go ahead and put me on the induction schedule for either the 30th or the 31st. Maybe just scheduling it will make her come out.

I'm not really wanting an induction because I want to go natural again but I also want my DH to be able to be there with me when I'm laboring. I sure don't want to go through that alone. Anyway, i'm thinking that worst case scenerio, I end up with a c section and have to stay 3 days, that will give me one day at home with Lauren and with my mom here to help.

I seriously can't believe that there are only 4 hours left of her "due day" and nada. I just never even thought I'd go past due.

ETA: I'm being pretty sarchastic. I seriously didn't think I'd go past due but I'm ok with it. DH did agree to the ultimate labor inducing technique after I assured him that Lauren won't come out with a dent in her head. We shall see if that helps after K goes to bed.

She is loving mommy way too much these days. I hope she comes soon. I'm ready to meet her. How cool would that be if you had her on New Years. Then you would have 3 things to celebrate. Sending some Labor Vibes your way. I hope you don't have to go against your wishes and induce.

coasterqueen replied: Jeanne just cracks me up! Well Cary I hope getting "down" tonight helps . I know you must be going crazy right now, I know I would. The doc induced me on my due date with Kylie for various reasons so I only had to wait til then. But IF I don't have placenta issues I'm trying to prepare myself for the fact that I WILL more than likely go past 40 weeks if I want to have a VBAC. Doesn't bother me too much now but I know it will the closer I get to the end.

Hopefully you won't have to be induced or have a c/s. My p&pt's are with you so you can go in to labor on your own.

Oh no!!!! We have certainly all been there! Of course not all of us are trying to get a baby to come out. I hope the little bit went a long way and was helpful anyway. Keep us posted on what your doctor says.

I was born a month late, and my mom was induced 3 times before I finally came out. Needless to say I was her last baby!!
