Open up gift early
BAC'sMom wrote: Would you ever or have you ever let one of your children open up a Christmas gift early?
Calimama replied: Yes. Bella got a gift from her grandma that we opened early. As she gets older I'll probably let her open one before Christmas. We're pretty relaxed about stuff like that.
coasterqueen replied: From someone else if they offered, yes. From us? No, because I wouldn't be able to say no after just one gift.
luvmykids replied: My dad talked my mom into all of us opening "one" gift on Christmas Eve one year and it was all downhill from there
I always let them open their new pj's on Christmas Eve, but thats about it.
C&K*s Mommie replied: Yes. We opened up some gifts tonight. I will probably always be the one to ruin the Christmas Day surprise by letting the girls open things up early.
redplaydoh replied:
Now THAT gives me a great idea... I wanted them to wear special pj's for the early morning gift opening, but we bought them for Christmas, so maybe Christmas eve they can have that package before getting ready for bed so they're dressed cute for the next morning. Thanks!
CantWait replied: We open one on Christmas Eve, and the cards and money from my grandma they get to open as soon as they arrive.
holley79 replied: Annika has opened two gifts from a friend of mine last Saturday. She will probably open her gifts on Christmas Eve from us. As she gets older we will do the whole Santa bit.
BAC'sMom replied: We have always opened up gifts on Christmas Eve with my family and my FIL. Then on Christmas morning my kids open their Santa gifts.
holley79 replied: Maybe I'll leave the Santa gifts for Christmas morning also when Annika gets older. We normally have to go to family houses and she will defiantly be opening gifts there.
Kaitlin'smom replied: from others yes, one she got in the mail from Greatgrandma in FL, and we exchanged with the sitter the other day, but from me nope if I start with one I would want her to open them all. She might open her 4th year ornament christmas eve~depend on when we get home.
lisar replied: I let them open one on christmas eve and its normally pajamas. Thats it.
Boo&BugsMom replied: I did yesturday! I usually don't because none of the kid presents are under the tree until Christmas Eve night, but it was a game that was almost free and Tanner wanted to play go fish last night, so I let him have it. It was an alphabet go-fish game so I figured what the heck. It came with card holders, which come in handy for him because he lays his cards out in front of everyone if he can't hold them all.
sparkys2boys replied: I let the kids open one gift on xmas eve, it's a tradation(actually a sanity saver..lol) keeps them busy and not just hyper! And DH's uncle always sends them home a cheque for some serious cash and we let them spend it on what they want and they are allowed to have that before xmas too.
sparkys2boys replied: We let the boys open 1 gift on xmas eve, it's a tradation in the family(or a sanity saver..lol) keeps them busy and not so hyper!! Also DH's uncle sends them home a cheque for some serious cash and we let them spend it on what they what themselves and they can have that too.
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: Yes, she opened one up from her great aunt yesterday!!
Nina J replied: Nope, we don't.
My3LilMonkeys replied: Anything that comes in the mail or is given before Christmas we do but our presents have to wait until Christmas morning.
Iluvmyboys replied: When the boys were younger we use to let them open a few on christmas eve and leave the rest for the morning.
Cece00 replied: Not unless its a gift from someone we wont be seeing on Christmas Eve/Day.
But we open gifts on Christmas Eve, and they get presents from Santa on Christmas Day.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Logan got into one yesterday afternoon before I knew what he was up to. It was a pair of Buzz Lightyear jammies from a friend of ours. You should have heard him, I laughed out loud. Hearing, "OH, WOW!" come out of a two year old's mouth is hysterical.
MoonMama replied: Alec is bad he's all about letting Braedin and I open up gifts early. I've had to tell him no many times or there would be nothing under our tree. He just gets so excited when he gets us anything.
