Okay, beer drinkers....

MyBrownEyedBoy wrote: I know several of you confessed to being beer drinkers in another thread. So, what's your favorite beer?

Personally, I love Samuel Adams Summer Ale.
Also, Fat Tire is good, but it's fairly regional. I don't think they've gone national yet.
I love Guiness, but really it tastes better in Ireland, I don't think it travels over water well, it doesn't even taste the same in England. LOL.
As for major brews, I like MGD and also Killian's Irish Red

HuskerMom replied: Miller High Life beer.gif

redchief replied: Favorite brew is Heineken. I also like Killians Irish Red, Guiness, Sam Adams Ale and Smithwicks (tastes similar to Killians and is made by Guiness).

MyBabeMaddie replied: Miller Lite - I think it all tastes the same

Twelve Volt Man replied: Okay... just so there's no misunderstanding, I've been drinking beer professionally since 1992. Having tried more than I should, I've settled on Michelob Ultra, Michelob Light, and Busch Light. Sure, they don't sound as intriguing as Will's Western Woodchuck Pale Ale, but they're a darn sight less expensive. And when you imbibe like I do, you look for such savings.

TANNER'S MOM replied: Well I am not a fancy beer drinker. I only drink Bud Light..Coors light if they are out of Bud Light..and nothing if I have to drink Busch..lol

I have never really tried any of the fancy stuff and maybe I should one day.

Mommy2BAK replied:
haha, Mel you are truely a woman after my own country heart! smile.gif wub.gif

HuskerMom replied:
rolling_smile.gif funny

I really prefer whiskey over beer any day. Give me a Jack and Coke and I'm happy. laugh.gif The miller high life was what Dh wanted me to put. smile.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: I like Corona and Michelob I hate lite beer

I also found I like Whisky Glenlivet

3xsthefun replied: I like Michelob Light and Bud Light, but will also drink Busch Light.

PrairieMom replied: I have never ever tried a single sip of beer. Ever. blush.gif

lovemy2 replied:
WHAT? Do you not drink at all? That's almost unamerican..... emlaugh.gif

I am a through and through Labatt's Light but also imbibe in a Corona or two during the summer....

PrairieMom replied:
We aren't really big drinkers. I like fruity mixed drinks or wine coolers on occasion. I have only been buzzed twice, and never drunk. cool.gif

lesliesmom replied: DH and I were die hard Labatt Blue Light drinkers but the price has gotten to us a bit. Even though we are right across the border from Canada and it is something like 14.99 for a case (24) we have switched purely for economic purposes to Busch Light. At 13.49 for 30 we figure we'll give up a little. BUT, when we go out it's Blue Light, Sam Adams Light or (at my folks house) MGD.

MommyToAshley replied:
See Mel, we have more in common than we thought... I am a Bud Light drinker myself. thumb.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: Bud light (guess we need to crack a few Mel) and I like Lebats Light, sometimes Michalobe ultra. Not a big beer drinker though

luvmykids replied: I don't really drink beer anymore but when I do it's Coors Light and has to be in a bottle.

I'm having flashbacks of my bartending days....my two favorite customers drank Lebatts and Fat Tire cool.gif

jcc64 replied: Depends on the time of year and the circumstances. Corona and Sam Adams Summer Ale are summer drinks. In the winter I like New Castles- but that gets pricey in large quantities. For those times when it's quantity over quality, it's MGD's all the way- Miller Genuine Draft.

coasterqueen replied: Miller Lite gal here. I'll drink Bud Light if only thing there. Actually there are several beers I like if on draft. Didn't like Samuel Adams, the only other beer like that I've tried.

TheOaf66 replied: Well when i am out I drink Bud Light...
A good foreign beer is St Paulie Girl
Sam Adams is pretty good

Oh and Twelve Volt Man, I understand about less expensive beer, at home I always have Red Dog, it is a good alternative and it costs me $11 for a 30 Pack so if they sell it by you give it a try.

BUT...my all time favorite beer of all is of course FREE beer thumb.gif

now you got me thirsty beer.gif

Mommyof3 replied: Corona and of course, I gotta have the lime in it! biggrin.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm not a beer drinker really, but I'll drink Fat Tire on occasion.

Just give me a bottle of tequila, a shot glass and some limes and I'm happy. blush.gif

Calimama replied:
Same here!!

Our Lil' Family replied: Normally Bud Lite, Miller Lite if it's icy cold in the bottle.
I do like Shiner Blonde too.

DillsMommy replied: The only beer I drink is rootbeer. But I'd take vodka anyday.....love the stuff!

grapfruit replied: Amber Bock for me! Tim has been on a Sam Adams Boston Lager kick lately. He says he really like the Cherry Wheat (or Mead or somethng like that). I've never tried it. If they don't have Amber Bock (sometimes it's hard to find!) I'll settle for Michalob Lager. I've tried the Ultra and it's "ok". I'm game to try about any of them though...

Kentuckychick replied:
Well you aren't missing much!!!
I think beer is definitely an aquired taste and certainly not one I've ever been able to acquire tongue.gif

Beer Cheese on the otherhand... THAT is some good quality stuff!

MyBrownEyedBoy replied:
What on earth is beer cheese?

Hillbilly Housewife replied: I will drink anything Canadian... it's not as watered down as you Yanks' beer... rolling_smile.gif

in all honesty... i prefer Labatt's Blue or Blue light, with salt sprinkled into it.

But - I prefer even more cooking with beer rather than drinking it. I make a mean beer can chicken. My beer bread is pretty darn tasty too. I'm always getting requests for it when we go to parties or whatever.

Kentuckychick replied:
Beer cheese is a cheese spread that's made with cheddar cheese, beer, garlic, and other ingredients that is absolutely scrumptious. You dip pretzels or carrots in it typically. It is definitely a Kentucky thing, but it is delicious.

Beer cheese and Ale-8 are the staples at any Kentucky bbq yummy.gif

Cece00 replied: Honestly, I prefer tequila and vodka to anything (mixed, of course, I rarely drink it straight)

I dont care for beer. Sometimes if I'm pretty drunk I'll have a Corona, but mostly I can not stand the taste of beer.

My husband loves Guiness.

Farelle replied: Smutty Nose, Old Brown Dog Ale!! It's from NH (even though I am not) Mmmm!

Danalana replied: I think beer is dreadful, but I tried one kind that was halfway ok...Smirnoff Ice. I didn't like it enough to actually buy any and drink it, though tongue.gif Pretty much, I just hate alcohol puke.gif

Miranda1127 replied:
ditto. i can't even remember the last time i drank anything other than iced tea, water, or milk

Kentuckychick replied:
Yeah, that's me too.
I've never really tasted an alcohol and said "Well now, that's good stuff!"
And because of my migraines and my heart condition I've never been drunk... but I honestly don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.
I enjoy the occasional glass of wine (which typically makes my head throb) but other than that I could pass on about anything.

I do enjoy foods cooked with alcohol though... I think it adds a lot of flavor to certain meals biggrin.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
That's a vodka drink. rolling_smile.gif

One type of beer that is decent and doesn't really taste like typical beer is Sleeman's Honey Brown Lager. It's very decent actually.

msoulz replied:

LOL, me neither. But in the days when I did enjoy a brew or two I did really like the Sam Adams Summer Ale, and whenever we could get to Canada I enjoyed Brador very much! My dad swears Old Milwaukee is the best and it's cheap, and he was quite proud when a Consumer Reports taste test agreed with him. rolleyes.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I like just about the EXACT same beers you do Kelly! Obviously I love Fat Tire...brewed here in Colorado! Sam Adams is really my favorite though. I also love Anchor Steam and Sierra Nevada. Killians red is great. And I'll always go for a Corona with lime on a hot day! tongue.gif
