Ok, lets hear about................. - why you joined here originally?

If any of you recall my question here was about still swaddling Jack at 6 months old - well FYI, it continued until he was 10 months old!!!!!

kimberley replied: DH was a member here before me, but i posted a lot about being scared of an induction with Jade. i didn't want it and docs were saying there was no choice. the wonderful parents here did an amazing job supplying me with info and support and i joined the morning of my induction (Jade's b-day)

i remember that swaddling post Jen! lol

kimberley replied: rarely. he popped on a couple of weeks ago to say hi but that's about it. he was unemployed back then and had a lot more free time. but he does lurk all the time and has kept up with everyone.

She sent me a link one day and told me to check it out, and now I do more then once a day I have never been a member on any other boards before so this is still new to me, but such a wonderful feeling knowing that there is always atleast one person here who can relate to what I am going through and able to offer advice or even just a cyber hug I can't imagine not being part of this board now.

She will be greatly missed, but is moving only about 5 miles away once her new house is finished. For now though, she is about 15-20 min away.

A&A'smommy replied: when I joined I was 17 pregnant and a newlywed I was looking for some advice on books or video about giving birth someone suggested that i join and I did and I have been here for two years!

PrairieMom replied: I was an active poster on the "starting over " reality TV show's website. They had a really good parenting section. I posted there for 2 whole seasons, but this season they got rid of their message board and directed us to another one that didn't have what I was looking for.
I was wanting to find another place where I could find parenting support and advice.

ammommy replied: I was a member at another board that started out great and quickly became drama-ridden. Something happened with a member of both boards (now a member of niether) that brought this place to my attention. I lurked for awhile, then decided that this was a better fit for me.

It was terrible there alot of immaturity, not to mention people stealing pictures and faking having children. So I left. I joined here and a couple of other sites and set up a livejournal. So there ya have it I came here to escape drama.
I disappeared for awhile when we got a new computer because hubby didn't give me a chance to transfer all my bookmarks but was able to comeback when we brought out the old computer.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Okay I cheated and went back and checked my original post. I joined on March 1st when Wil turned 6 months old. My question was about how Wil had suddenly changed into a little dennis the menace over night and I wasn't sure how to handle it. I wanted to know if it was too early to tell him no when he hit me or got into something I didn't want him too. I now check-in every day...several times per day!! I enjoy it here...

If I remember correctly I was also looking for info about chronic croup bc my little guy was pretty sick - but I don't think anyone replied!

punkeemunkee'smom replied: I was on another board that my bf was on when Tay was brand new,but didn't post much. We cut the internet off for a few years and when I got it again I looked for that board and found this one instead and I am so glad I did! I enjoy it here,everyone is so helpful and respectful-it is a great place to come and be able to let your guard down! Thanks everybody!

Insanemomof3 replied: When I joined I was looking for a board that was not as judgmental about things. I belonged to another board before this one, but sometimes I got the feeling that every one on the other board just wanted to judge people and tell them how to live their life. Here it is not that way. The support here is incredible and I don't think I could ever leave this place! No matter what the problem, or circumstance, everyone in here has nice and helpful things to say. Friendships here are awesome. I love it here.

My3LilMonkeys replied: I haven't been here long either...I was on another board where I was basically called a bad, unloving mommy for allowing my 22 month old to have a security blanket. I went looking for a new board and ended up here.

Of course, my first question was about security objects...and I found the people here to be much more caring and respectful whether they agreed with my opinions or not.
