Ok Ladies - Need some advice - Maybe TMI - Sorry :)

mom2my2cuties wrote: Well for 3-4 days now I haven't been able to hold ANYTHING down. So I called the doctor today, and he is writing a script for Phenegran...All well and good except I can't take that and work because Phenegran knocks me on my tooshie.

I'm also wondering because with the other two just before going into labor, I was like this for about a week. I lost my plug (sorry gross I know) about a week ago, and I know that can mean something or nothing at all.

I guess I'm just wondering if I should just take the phengran and wait and see or if I should actually ask him to check me to make sure I'm not about to start labor.

Thankfully the little stinker HAS turned heads down. Well mostly heads down and her lungs are fully ready just in case according to the doctor who checked on that on Friday.

PrairieMom replied: I would take it. If you are puking you re probably going to get dehydrated, and that can bring on contractions. You are still a bit early. Besides, if you are puking and miserable can you really be that productive at work anyway?

CantWait replied: 34 weeks is still a bit early, too early to take the risk of going into labor. I'd take it.

grapfruit replied: Try taking just a 1/2 at a time. You actually get over that "need to sleep RIGHT NOW" thing after you get used to it (sad that I've taken that much phenegren to know that).

Usually a 1/2 for me is enough to at least take the edge off, then I take the other 1/2 a little bit later.

Of course, I don't take it b/c have a baby inside of me that doesn't want me to eat anything rolling_smile.gif I took it b/c I had Mesenteric Artery Syndrome. Should work just as good I suspect!

Calimama replied: I'd take it. You still have a while before you're full term. hug.gif

mom2my2cuties replied:

Sorry I haven't updated that thing. I'm actually farther along than that says. That was going by a guess date at my LMP, I'm closer to 36 1/2 weeks.

HuskerMom replied: I don't have any advice but I hope you start feeling better whatever you decide to do. hug.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Were you dillated or effaced at your last appt, which you said was last Friday? If you are close to 37 weeks, and something is happening down there, then I would say just wait it out. Especially since you said you got sick around this time in your last PGs, right before giving birth. You never know that this is a sign that baby is on her way! GL, hopefully the sickness will go away and you can eat. hug.gif

mom2my2cuties replied: He hasn't checked me yet. I'm going to pick up the prescriptions tomorrow. I can't take any more puking. My appointment this past Friday was just for an Ultrasound to make sure she has turned around. They were really starting to worry about that. Speaking of which, did ANYONE else's child suck thier toes??? I can't believe we caught her doing this. He doesn't start seeing me weekly until after this week.

luvmykids replied: What about Emetrol? Since you have an appt you can run it by him but last I heard it was safe....I lived on that stuff when I was pg with the twins. It is sickeningly sweet, I had to choke down the first dose or two but once I realized it worked with no drowsiness I was hooked.

GL, that is sheer misery! hug.gif

maestra replied: I would say give the phenergan a try- I had to take it all of the time with Jaci. It bothered me at first, but after a while it didn't make me sleepy anymore. There is also another drug called Zofran that doesn't make you drowsy, but can be quite expensive. I had zofran with Giselle.

mom2my2cuties replied: Well I have taken Zofran, but the only form that works for me is the continous Zofran pump and I have the liquid Zofran and all the other stuff, just don't have the pump anymore. It was stolen from my house in TN by an old roommate.
