That's it! So I (not so) kindly e-mail him back saying that is NOT an e-mail one would expect from their HUSBAND OF EIGHT YEARS! And a few other choice phrases and let him know that my feelings were hurt.
He replied saying he was in a rush.  So, my reply was:
"Hey beautiful,
Just wanted to let you know our tax appt is on Feb 2 at 9 a.m.
See you tonight!
Lots of Love,
Scotty

coasterqueen replied:  I get TONS of emails from Dh daily so I get about 1/2 very sweet and 1/2 the same as your Dh's first email. I try not to take it personal because we do email each other so much, but it is nice to get those sweet ones.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I get forwards or these types of messages and I get about one e-mail every 2 weeks from him. We dont' e-mail each other often. We talk on the phone a lot, though and he is somewhat nicer on the phone.

Mine is pretty good with that kinda thing he phones me from work to say hi on break sometimes, he can be sweet(he works nights, continental shift, 6pm-6am)

I do love it when I get a text that says I love you or I miss you-for some reason it does feel different than hearing it,I guess because they took the time to type it out!

Ditto - I get text messages from dh all the time. He takes time in meetings or in the company car or somewhere where and when he "shouldn't" call me because there's others around... but he still "risks" it and texts me.
