b&bsmom wrote: decorative stone yesterday and has not passed it yet. ohmy.gif We were at my parents house and he swallowed one of those stones you put in vases and stuff to make them look nice. He came over to me sorta choking on it and before I could get it he swallowed it. bawling.gif I couldn't believe it.He has never put things in his mouth before and we were all sitting right there. well we called the on call doc and he told us to give him lots of pudding and yogurt and jello to coat his stomach and if he doesn't pass it in 48 hrs to take him to the doc and they would do xrays. Well he hasn't passed it so we will be going to the doc tomorrow. I am scared and upset. :cry I can't believe this is happening. Wish me luck. Thanks for listening. bawling.gif

mummy2girls replied: oh no! Poor guy and mommy! If its what im thinking of its what i have at my place. now im thinking of removing them:( Update us!

A&A'smommy replied: OH goodness that is scary!!! It normally takes three days for things to pass through the bowls but I would go ahead and get it checked out since he is so young!! ((((HUGS)))) He will be okay, Mommy!!

lisar replied: That would scare the mess out of me. let us know how it goes and if he is okay.

MommyToAshley replied: Oh no! I can understand why you are upset and scared.... grouphug.gif to both of you. But, I bet he will be fine. I hear stories of kids swallowing all sorts of things... quarters, magnets, etc...and things turn out fine. I'd probably do as you are and go to the doc for precautionary reasons though. Let us know how it goes. grouphug.gif

iluvmysweetiepies replied: Oh no!! I would be scared too. He'll probably be fine though. ((((HUGS)))) Let us know how it goes tomorrow! grouphug.gif

mammag replied: I know the feeling. Conner swallowed a coin a while back and I had to take him to get an xray because he said it was a penny and the older penny's can break up and cause ulcers. It was a perfect circle so it wasn't an issue. I kept watching for the darn thing and never saw it pass so I finally gave up. He had a tummy ache for a while but it finally got better. It was in there after 5 days when we got the xray so I think it can sometimes take longer.

Hope all goes well and he passes it okay. I'm sure he'll be fine.

Alice replied: I can relate too!!
When Julia was 2 1/2, she swallowed a QUARTER. She was breathing fine, but kept spitting up-- a little bit at a time-- for hours. Finally the doctor suggested taking her to the ER.

They did 2 sets of Xrays over the course of 6 hours, and said she was fine: it was moving (slowly!!!!) and not blocking her breathing. But we had to check every diaper until it passed.

The bad news: (and, yes, it gets worse huh.gif ) it took 6 weeks and 2 more sets of X-rays before it passed. Honest, I didn't just miss it-- we saw it on more X rays.

The good news: the doctor said they wouldn't go in to get it (my big fear) unless there was a reason to. And she passed it with no apparent pain.

So my heart is with you. I'm sure you're way more concerned about this than he is. And, for the record: I felt like the most neglectful mom in the world. In case you're wallowing in the same sort of feeling, let me assure you: this is what kids do. They're weird little creatures and they put non-food items into their mouths. Try not to beat yourself up or worry too much, OK??

ediep replied: oh no!!! Hope it passes soon! Try not to panic, I am sure he'll be fine. I swallowed an earring when I was a kid.

amynicole21 replied: Oh no! That is so scary! Keep us posted.

MM'sMama replied: How is Bryce doing today? Anything yet?

My Brice swallowed a nickel once and in the end we ended up in the ER and it had gotten stuck on its way down and they had to remove it. Fairly easy when they did it but really scary for him and I. Thank god he was still breathing well the whole time.

Keep us updated! grouphug.gifgrouphug.gif

b&bsmom replied: Well it is about 1 here and he did poop a little more but no stone. sad.gif I called the doc this morning and they said wait another day and give him prune juice and stuff to make him poop. So that is what we are doing. He is fine acting fine and all that so that is good. We will see how things go and I will keep you updated. Thanks for all your hugs and advice. biggrin.gif

stanleygirl replied: ~~~~Poop that stone out buddy~~~~ I hope it is out soon, big (((HUGS))) to you!

A&A'smommy replied: Keep us posted hun, I'm sure he is fine!!

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Tay swallowed a pop bead-you know those things they make kid jewelry out of-I make bracelets/earrings and since she was always wanting to get into all my beads I bought her one of those pop bead sets...she made some of the cutest little necklaces and bracelets BUT she was jumping on her jump-or-reene(inflatable in the playroom)with a necklace on and she was kinda holding it in her mouth and I guess bit one off and down it went! blink.gif I called the dr. in a panic and they said if they got it down then most of the time they can get it out! We never saw it but she was potty trained and the dr. did not make that big of a deal out of it! huh.gif I hope the stone passes soon! Just think of the story you will be able to tell him! blush.gif

Josie83 replied: Omg poor Brice!! I hope he's okay grouphug.gif to you both xx
