Some of you may remember my mentioning before that I'd never gotten a ring. I'd been bugging for one for almost a decade now. This past month, I've been really complaining, nagging, b---ing and even whining about not having one. He just keeps telling me that we can't afford one or he can't find one that HE likes
So a couple days ago, the Ring Topic comes up again. I told him that there's NO WAY he can't afford a ring. I'm not materialistic, I don't like diamonds. How much more cheaper than that can ya get?? And I told him he's a dumba--. It doesn't matter if HE bloody well likes it... I'M the one who gets to wear it, it's whether or not I like it!!! As for the cost, I've told him MANY times that even Walmart has some really cute rings for like $5 - again, how much more cheaper than that can ya get?? I've told him that I don't care if the darn thing comes out of a Cracker Jack box, I JUST WANT A RING!!!
Well, he takes me for a drive this morning. He's on afternoons for the next two weeks, so we dropped the children off at their last day of school and off we went. We wander all over Walmart - pretty much in circles and finally I ask him WHAT on earth we're looking for. He kind of stammers and says, "Rings." I rolled my eyes and said, "You know, in almost ANY store, the rings are all by the cash register's. Yanno, where we came in like an hour ago!" lol [we'd been wandering for maybe 10 minutes, ]
We go look at the rings and I found a really nice one . Not $5, but still darned cute for $10. It was on this tag thingy so you couldn't steal them and I could barely get a size 6 on, so he bought it. It turned out that a 6 is too big for me, but they didn't have any 5's anyway.
So, after 16 flipping years, I FINALLY HAVE A RING!!!! [with a little duct tape on it ]

When we left, I told him I was trying to think of an appropriate romantic place for him to put my ring on. He asked what did I have in mind. I started laughing and said, "The best place EVER!!!" He starts laughing and says, "Timmy's?" ["Timmy's" is Tim Hortons, Canada's better version of Starbucks ]. So we head for the nearest Timmy's and he proposes and puts on my ring. AND NO ONE EVEN NOTICED US! But I was happy, so I really didn't give a flying crap

msoulz replied: I think it's awesome that for $10 you are so happy - some folks would require two or three more zeros on the end. You rock!

It's been driving me nutz because it keeps spinning around my finger. I put some more duct tape on it , but now that's driving me nutz
I'm going to see if I can get it resized. I'd rather not get one that's the right size because I really do love this one

Most jewellers will put a little band sizer thingy to keep it frmo spinning, if yu don't want to pay the cost to have it resized..
