OMG .... what am I going to do??!!??? - You won't believe what Ashley did!

MommyToAshley wrote: DH must have watched too much MacGyver..., and Ashley got some MacGyver genes! You won't believe what she did!!!!! She pulled the childproof plug out of the socket!!!! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif She dug her little nail in there and pulled it out!!!!! OMG .... what am I going to do??!!??? ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif I am going to have to buy the covers that have the sliding panels now, but I hope she doesn't figure that out! What am I going to do??!!??

She is always taking her diaper off, I can't use bibs with velcro or snaps because she takes those off, she's learned how to open the lid on her little cheerio tupperwear container so I can't let her hold that. (I used to let her hold onto it at the grocery store).

ACCCKKKK!!! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

MomToMany replied: ohmy.gif Wow! What a little "stinker"! She's a really smart baby! Hannah doesn't even get into THAT much trouble!

She's going to be a genius if she can figure out all that stuff already! Maybe rearrange so the outlets are covered up? Keep her diaper covered with shorts or something so she can't take it off.

I'm not sure what else to do! She's just too smart!

mummy2girls replied: your going to have to get the slide over socket covers.... i used to take care of a 9 month old boy a year ago and he learned how to get thje cupboard locks off...the ones that attach onto 2 knobs, the ones that you squeeze the sides and slide it off to open the cupboard..I hope you know what i mean. he was only 9 months and boy when i discovered him under the sink I panicked because at that point i had to figure out how to lock them.

ashley is defently a smart girl

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Jeez!

Good luck!

I have all my outlets pretty much covered by furniture... so I,m not worried. I AM worried about him baning on the tv though. I have a 54 inch screen...and he stands up beside it and gives it big WHACKS!

jcc64 replied: Don't feel bad. Corey's already figured out how to jump out of the crib. The mattress is as low as it can go, there are no toys that could facilitate her "escape", I'm clueless about how she did it. But I put her in the crib so I could take a quick shower, and when I came out, there she was in the middle of my bed.( We keep her crib right next to our bed, which in this case was a blessing). Not sure where to go from here. wacko.gif

supermom replied: OMG!! You've definately got a problem there - They do have ones with not only sliding locks, but also ones that have like little padlocks on the sides of them so that you've got to insert the "key" to get them open......HTH and good luck!

Julie (jem0622) replied: Buy yourself one of those massive sized pens (looks like a bunch of safety gates connected to one another) and corral that child! LOL.

I would try the trickier covers also.

kit_kats_mom replied: Somebody has really great manual dexterity! blink.gif

If you don't use some of the plugs, you could just get the outlet covers from the hardware store with no holes & just coverthem up. Otherwise, the trickier plugs sound like a plan.

Good luck!

You might want to invest in one of those mesh covers for her crib! My mom had to use that for me when I was a baby blush.gif

Ashley is a smartie-pants! You are in for a difficult 18 years... wink.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: OMG! what a smartie pants! looks like your gonna have to go shopping for covers that are harder to remove! probably with locks and you will have to hide the key or she probaby will figure that out also!

Ashley is so silly!

ediep replied: Oh MY!!! SHe is so smart!!!

MommyToAshley replied:

LOL

Thanks everyone for the ideas!
And, I wanted to set a record for the post with the most quotes...heheh

Kirstenmumof3 replied: ohmy.gif Wow that's scary! What a smart little baby you have! I've seen those slid outlet covers and I think I would definately invest in those! Hope she doesn't figure those out! ohmy.gif

MomofTay&Sam replied: ohmy.gif Oh boy Ashley! Sounds like she is keeping you on your toes. Just goes to prove how determinded our little people are. Ashley sounds so smart. What a big girl now. I would get the sliding ones too, just to be safe.

Mommieto2Girls replied: Wow I can't believe she has figured them out. Maddie has started playing with the plug covers, picking at them. I guess if she figures out how to get one off then it's time to get the slide ones. The mesh thing for the crib is a great idea, my sister needed that with Brianna, she jumped out of her crib to. I will just die if Maddie leaps out of there. Maddie started standing on the bumpers and as soon as I noticed I removed them, to me it's better for her to bump into the crib than have leverage to try to jump out.
Good luck with Ashley she is deffinatly gonna be a handful.
