OMG She did it! She did it! - Yeaaaaahhhhhhhh

She was having poopy problems again over the weekend and especially last night, I could tell she was bound up and needed to go and was "withholding" it again. So I gave her a tsp of M of M and within the next 2 hours she went 4 times Not a lot each time though. The first time she went she kept saying mommy gotta poo poo gotta poo poo and she would sit on the potty to no avail, when she felt like she was getting ready to go she tensed up and would not go. So I put her pants back on her and just thought to myself she can go in her pants, as long as she goes. So she did she went in her pants a little bit and told me she did it and was a little upset that she did - I don't know why she gets so dramatic about it. But I said to her, well you tried to go in the potty for me and that is all you can do. But when you're ready you come tell mommy and she will give you 4 stickers if you poo poo in the potty. I knew she wasn't done. So the second time (about 20 minutes later), she starts holding her butt and saying gotta poo poo again. So she asked me for a book this time and to sit on the big potty, so I put her potty seat on the big potty and sat her there and this time, I left her alone and went in the next room just to listen. I heard her whining again so I figured she just got up again and was "withholding" it but when I went in there she looked up at me and was still sitting on the potty and she screamed "I DID IT, I DID IT" I said OMG Did you and I checked and sure enough she had went. We did the full fledged potty dance to top all potty dances and clapped and cheered, called her a big girl a million times and she got her 4 stickers! She was so excited. She ended up going 2 more times that night on the potty after that. Boy that M of M does the trick doesn't it and she was so good about it. Hopefully this helps some of her problems she has been having and makes her not so scared to go. I thought this was going to be a long drawn out process for sure, but everytime she goes we have to leave her alone by herself or she throws her fits! So maybe that is the key, all that time she just wanted to do #2 in peace Jeanne and Brenda thank you guys so much. If she continues to "withhold" though I am still going to take her to the doctor to find out what is going on, I still think she has some BM problems. I'm just glad when she does "go" that she is going on the potty! I was just so ecstatic, I never thought she would do it so fast! Maybe now that she isn't scared to go on the potty she'll stop withholding but we'll see. At least last night she did, but I honestly don't think she could stop it because of the M of M
Kaitlin'smom replied: so funny the things we get excited over these days. WTG Hanna. You made mommy proud. Oh another trick I learned if she get scared of falling in the big potty face her backwards so she can hold onto the lid. It really helped Kait espically with the pooping.
CONGRTAS. I hope this is what she needed to not with hold it any longer.

jcc64 replied: Oh, good for you guys, LeaAnn! If you can remove the potty fear from the equation, that would definitely simplify things. Maybe that's all it was- it's pretty common. For Corey, it wasn't the potty, it was the fear of pooping itself that started all the problems, which is infinitely more problematic. Here's hoping it's the former for you guys! For now, just enjoy your little victory!!

You said you think she still has bm problems? Is her poop hard or is it soft? If it's hard it could very well be her diet and it's so much harded to poop like that and makes it seem like they have more of a problem than they do.

Now honestly Leanne. Did you ever think, three years ago, that you'd be so excited about poop? Enough to dance about it? Yeah, me either.
