OMG, I want one of these - and they are hypoallergenic
MyBrownEyedBoy wrote: I was searching hypoallergenic dogs, because I suspect Logan may have a skin allergy to them too. And I found these. Now I really want one. Labradoodles Bonus, since they are hybrids, they tend to have less problems than either pure breed poodles or labradors have. And look at the colors. I love the chocolate ones.
mckayleesmom replied: OMG...those are just too cute......and it gives a child with allergies a chance to have a doggy.
MoonMama replied: Awwww how cute!
Our dog Ra-ra is supposed to b hypoallergenic. I call her a Picky-oodle. Picanese (sp) & poodle, and I am allergic to everything in sight and she doesn't bother me in the least.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I think Pekinese/poodle crosses are marketed as peekapoos. They are adorable.
sparkys2boys replied: AWWW, how cute!!! You going to get one??
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I have to do a few things first. I have to move to a bigger house with a fully fenced yard (hope to do this come spring), I have to come up with $800 and I have to convince Aaron it's a good idea. That last one may take some time.
redchief replied: Labradoodles have become a very popular breed. So, you going to get one?
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: See my post above. I don't think they've gotten as popular out here. Most of the breeders I've found are east of the Mississippi.
redchief replied: Gotcha... you were posting at the same time I was.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I met someone with a labradoodle over the summer is was so cute and such a good dog. It made me want one.
A&A'smommy replied: oh yes I have seen those, they are very pretty dogs!!
msoulz replied: Just a note - a friend of mine bought one because they aren't supposed to shed, but apparently hers got more labrad than oodle because it sheds up a storm! They weren't terribly pleased about it, but by the time they figured it out she was too much a part of the family! I don't know if shedding and allergies are related though.
MoonMama replied: Thanks
Celestrina replied: To convince Aaron, try taking him and Logan for a visit to the breeder. Tell him you just want to see if Logan has a reaction. That way the breeder can meet you (which they will most likely want to do), you can see if Logan does have a reaction, and Aaron will see Logan falling in love with one of the puppies .
Mommy2BAK replied: oh those are great. My friend has one! I think they look like stuffed animals!
AlexsPajamaMama replied: awwwww very cute, hope it all works out for you to get one!
luvmykids replied: Sooooo cute, hope you're able to get one!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I was always under the impression that the allergies were related to the saliva.... and when the animals clean themselves, the dried saliva on the shedded fur is what causes the allergic reaction, as opposed to the fur itself?
I could be confused. I KNOW that's the case with an allergy to cats, I'm just not sure about dogs.
grapfruit replied: Whoa, can you look around to see if you can find them cheaper?? I know they're great b/c there's no allergy's. But I have a hard time spending that much money for a non-purebred dog. KWIM?
However, I think a dog is a great idea.
3xsthefun replied: They are pretty dogs.
But just a warning, there are no dogs truly hypoallergenic. It is actually the dander on dogs that bother allergies. They still could shed even though the breeder says they don't.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I know that there isn't any true hypoallergenic dog, but these are close. My cousins are severely allergic to dogs, but they seem to have little to no problems with poodle crosses. And with Logan's only reactions being skin related and not eye/nose/breathing, I think we may be a bit safer. I've looked around some more and I'll have to keep looking. There's a dog show here every June, I'll probably go check it out.
Crystalina replied: I breed yorkies and even though no animal is not 100% hypo my nephew can be around them and he is severly allergic to animal dander. He is totally fine with them. And mine never ever shed...ever. I have a dark blue couch and the only hair on my furniture is mine (I think I'm going bald ).
Of course yorkies are not a mixed breed but I just wanted to add that.
3xsthefun replied: I'm sorry if I came off as being rude. I didn't mean to. I was just making sure you knew no dog can be truly hypoallergenic.
That is good he does good with poodle mixes. They are nice dogs.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Tina, I so didn't think you were being rude. It was good information. And I took no offense at all. Don't be sad!
luvbug00 replied: I would bring logan arround those kinds of dogs just in case. Mya can only be arround hair dogs and not fur. ANY fur.. I hope it works out for you.
ps. yes it's in the slaiva as well as the dander from the coat.
HOPE U CAN GET ONE!!!!!
