Yes it's still above zero, though barely and some of you would scoff at our temperatures, but trust me, I've been to where some of you live and this cold... this is different. This is the kind of cold that has a wind chill 20 degrees less than the temperature, where your ears fall off within 5 minutes of being outside (I mean it... I had to glue mine back on thrice today!), where you lungs say "What the heck are you thinkin... I'm not breathing THAT in" and close down temporarily, where they issue weather advisories that say "don't go outside for more than 10 minutes... you could die of frostbite." It's THAT cold.

And it STILL hasn't snowed.
I'm telling ya now... if we get through this winter without a good snow I am so moving to the beach. I'd rather be warm all summer and know that I'll see no snow than miserably cold and waiting on it!

But really... not bitter

it may not seem cold to many of you but here it was just freezing to us, especially early in the morning and it's pretty nippy now too.

I think the windchill was -2 F, but the wind was INSANE! It seriously hurt my lungs (I was walking back and forth across campus which takes 10+ minutes and I swear is a wind tunnel) and I had my 180 degree earmuffs on and yeah... I still felt the wind.

I guess when the average winter temperature for a place is 30 degrees F (we only saw 1-2 days drop below that last year) it just makes it so much worse.

I'll take the 50's anyday... even though that's still considered chilly here... and I'll definitely take some of that Cali weather!

I'd still love some snow (there's a slim chance on Thursday) we had a light dusting last week that melted by mid-morning and they called off schools anyway "just because" (the kids needed a break I suppose)

But I want this bitter cold to be gone... I don't know how anyone lives anywhere that's this cold all winter!

With living near the Ocean and Bay the wind is always blowing no matter how cold it is outside
last week it was so cold your lungs hurt the next 2 days I was running around in a sweatshirt then yesterday a sweatshirt again and today you need a jacket if its going to be this cold let it snow with it stop playing around with these dustings of snow let er rip LOL

Hang in there ground hogs day is just around the corner. only 6 more weeks to go!

coasterqueen replied: It is FREEZING FREEZING BITTER cold here right now. Brrrrrrr! And the wind is horrible. It just cuts you like a knife trying to walk through it. I think the wind makes the bitter cold 100x worse than w/no wind at all. I can tolerate the cold w/o wind, but when you factor in that wind there's no escaping the chill.

If he sees his shadow this year, I'm not so sure I can be held responsible for my actions... which will include but not be limited to hunting down and kicking his furry little hiney!

I'm voting for an early spring this year... six weeks seems SO long!
