OMG I AM SO UPSET!! Rant... :-O - Someone stole our Xmas decorations!!!!!!

So this morning little Brad wakes up and he is all cranky... being a dinosaur which got my morning off to a bad start already . Then I make our coffees and Brad gets ready to go to work. Once we finished our coffees and breakfast, I go down towards the door with Brad while he puts on his coat and shoes... and I looked outside the skinny tall window next to the door and saw a candy cane missing from the side of the pathway and figured it blew over some how. Then I inched over and saw that EVERY ONE was GOOOOONNNEEE !! And they weren't in the yard from being blown over or anything.. they were RIPPED out of their sockets and STOLEN!!!!! I immediately starting to cry .

We just moved into this neighborhood (which is supposed to be really nice and it costs a lot to even live in this area) and we already have people stealing from our yard! Not only did that hurt my feelings but the fact that a bunch of punk ass kids are in my yard in the middle of the night STEALING from us freaks me out! And I really liked the candy canes, no one else had them (and I guess I know why now) and I was sort of... well as stupid as it sounds... proud of them . I never had a yard before to decorate. We spent good money on those .

Of course now that I have calmed down a little, I realize it most likely was just like I said, a bunch of punks driving through neighborhoods being immature and stealing xmas decorations from peoples yards for some sort of thrill but I am still extremely upset. I never did that sort of stuff and at times like this I am glad we don't have any children because it would crush them to see that the GRINCH stole our candy canes .

So now I am glad we didn't put the reindeer out or anything. Brad wanted to get a package of 3 big ol' reindeer for 70 bucks and I disagreed and suggested we buy two smaller ones for 9.99 a piece. Well now I am glad I decided to go with those because we won't be using them this year or next probably... not unless we have a shock or tazer like system that goes off when people touch them. Either that or cameras to catch the thieves.

Brad wants to go back to the store and buy more candy canes but I don't want to risk it... I don't want to get my feelings hurt anymore and certainly don't want any one in my yard at night !

Please tell me I am not the only one who got their outside xmas decorations ganked? It is a really horrible thing .

Sorry for the long rant... I am just so upset!


Ohhhh, I forgot to add..... we never did get to see the candy canes lit up .

favre4fan replied: That is just terrible that someone would do that!! i drove pass a house the other day and they had this huge Santa chained to the light pole!! That is just sad what things have come to that you have to worry about stuff being taken from your yard! Good grief!! I hope this doesen't happen again!! JERKS!!

My dh's uncle knew someone who would put barbed wire around his Christmas decorations so no one would steal them. (he lived in St. Paul) It's too bad some people have to go around ruining everyone else's fun. Can you report something like that to the police? I don't know how much good it would do.
I'm sorry you didn't even get to see them lit!

I know the candy canes your talking about i was gonna buy some but my house is military house so we dont have nowhere to plug them at our socket is all the way in the back yard Im sorry those brats stolen from you. This happened to my mother at Halloween (her favorite holiday) She puts up a lot of decorations outside for the holidays and really goes overboard, but someone STOLE them this year. She wrote a letter to the newspaper describing her decorations and included her phone #. They published it, but she never got any calls. How can people be so mean?? She has had those decorations for YEARS and no one has touched them. She has a daycare and the parents gave her money to buy more.

When you are stealing xmas decorations, you aren't taking your time. You just grab and run, right? Muahahhahaha, that means if they try and mess with our reindeer we will do some major damage! Hey, thats what you get when you steal... a few punctures aren't bad... it could get worse like losing your whole hand !

I don't think I will ever forget this episode...

Kaitlin'smom replied: I had some client have a lot of christmas items stolen a few years ago and they were well secured and eeve duck taped together (not sure how that worked) but she and her monther were mortified and so mad. My dark side sister has one of thoes jiant blow up christmas teddy bears and it was stolen, her daughter was so upset, she did not understand why someone would take it.
