OMG Hanna has lice
My2Beauties wrote: If this doesn't freaking stink! Desiree had it about 3 weeks ago, she got it from school. At the same time that she was really sick and had that bout of pneumonia. Well, her mom got rid of it and treated her. The only place she was at in our house that night was on the couch, so we treated the couch, the floor around the couch and everything. Checked our heads, checked Hanna's head. All was well. None of us was really around Desiree as she was so ill, her fever was upwards of 105. I wouldn't let Hanna even see her, she came over after Hanna was in bed and left early in the morning before Hanna ever saw her. Well the past few days I have been noticing Hanna scratching her head a bunch. So I kept checking her head and I would see what looked like dandruff or flakes. I just figured she had dry scalp. So today Brian was down his grandma's house with her and his grandma's head is itching (she babysits Hanna every day whle we work) and she said it was awful, so they checked her head, sure enough she had lice. Hanna had it too I have no idea how long she has had it, if she got it from Desiree or what. I can't imagine her having it for 3 weeks and me not seeing anything at all. So now, Brian said he went ot the store and bought shampoo and this new thing they have out that zaps the bugs out of their hair, it's called the Robo Comb or something like that. I mean she was around other kids a lot the past few weeks, so it's possible I guess she got it from somewhere else. Grr this stinks. So now instead of a nice dinner and then a nice night calming down and watching AI, we're gonna be washing, cleaning, picking bugs and eggs out of each other's hair. Geez, I hope I don't have it, it's kind of embarrassing to be an adult and have head lice I haven't itched up until Brian freaking told me about it - so now my head just will not stop itching.
redchief replied: Aww LeAnne... I'm so sorry. What a pain. The nasty buggers could have come from anywhere.
Hope you have success at getting rid of them quickly!
amymom replied: oh I hope you get rid of them quickly. Take care.
PrairieMom replied: ug. Sorry you have to go through this. I have never had it, and hope I never get to either! BTW, now MY head is itching!
coasterqueen replied: UGH! I remember that when I was little. You'll also have to treat EVERYTHING in your house too.
My2Beauties replied: I know Brian has already started doing sheets and comforters and pillow cases in hot water, he sprayed the couch, mattresses, and all that good stuff. I hate those stupid darn things, my 2 year old shouldn't have to deal with this, I mean this stuff isn't supposed to happen until she goes to elementary school!
My3LilMonkeys replied: I hope you can get them cleared up quickly!
ilovemybaby replied: I'm sorry. I've had them a few times as a kid. And I had really thick long hair so it was always extra hard to get rid of them. My mum used the shampoo at first but it didn't work. So she got this spray stuff. You spray it on and leave it so long and then wash it out. It works way better than the shampoo. And she had one of those combs too. But it wasn't a Robo comb. Just a normal one.
JP&KJMOM replied: Bless her heart. I agree that you should not have to deal with this. No one should.
MommyToAshley replied: Oh no.. that sucks. I'm sorry you have to deal with all this. Sounds like you are doing a good job of treating it. YOu will have to make sure Brian's grandma does the same or Hannah could get it right back. Poor baby.
A little boy at the church Ashley goes to had body lice. I freaked out when I found out that his Mom let him play with the other kids knowing this. I checked Ashley ever night for weeks and luckily she didn't play with him much or catch it. I itch just thinking about it. yuck yuck yuck.
luvmykids replied: Oh I'm so sorry for all of you! Hope you can get rid of it quickly!
Now, dumb question, what do they look like and how do you know someone has them? Is it still common for kids to get them?
1lilpeanut2love replied: I hope it leaves ASAP. I hope you don't have it either. I remember as a kid I got it. It was horrible. I was putting someone elses hat on. UGGHH!!! Good Luck!!
Brias3 replied: Yikes, hope it goes away soon and no one else catches them! Poor Hanna
My2Beauties replied: It honestly looks like a flea in their head, a small flea not a big one for the most part, but I noticed last night that I saw one on Hanna's head that was more clearer in color, not real black. The eggs are little white looking things that are attached to a strand of hair and cannot be flicked off or moved very easily, they are attached to their hair with a glue like structure, so y ou have to take your fingernails and pull them down off the end of the hair. Believe me I read every box of Lice Remover you could imagine last night.
mckayleesmom replied: Oh no....I hope they go away soon.
TANNER'S MOM replied: My Grandma always said it wasn't a sin to get them but it was a sin to kept them! Hope they go away real quick!
CantWait replied: Just remember, those nasty little buggars like clean hair not dirty, so take it as a compliment, as unwanted as it may be.
Hope you can get rid of your unwanted guests soon.
