OK so I was home sick yesterday - and saw Dr Phil and oprah
My2Beauties wrote: Man I am hooked, I'm mad that I have to miss today. Did anyone see these yesterday, don't want to start a debate, but the parents of those children for the pagaents and the little 9 year old wanting to be a country singer p'd me off! I cannot believe the way they push these kids and then make excuses about it. It was making me sick I couldn't have kept my composure if I was in that audience! Then on Oprah it was so nice to see that Mary jo Buttafuoco has finally seen the light and left that awful man, she seems to be at peace now.
mckayleesmom replied: My friend was telling me about Dr. Phil yesterday....I had to watch DORA THE EXPLORER
mckayleesmom replied: I tried to change the channel and Mckaylee started crying and screaming "my noggin....my noggin"
ammommy replied: I got to see Dr Phil yesterday because the kids were playing fort in Megan's room I just keep telling myself that these type of parents have to be the exception, but so many shows find them that I just don't know. I loved how Mrs. Whateverstate told the mom to let her be a kid until 12 because before then, it's all about the looks and that's a horrible message to send to a little girl. Just out of curiosity, are there pagents for little boys?
mckayleesmom replied: Im not sure
My2Beauties replied: I know I have heard that there are boy pagaents, I saw a special on it one time. But it's not the norm, and it shouldn't be the norm for little girls neither. It just p'd me off to know that these little girls were subject to this sort of stuff!
MM'sMama replied: I know what you mean ...I was one of those pageant kids! But thank god my mom fianlly saw the light on that one. But those shows and kids really sicken and sadden me !
Hillbilly Housewife replied: lol
i don't want to offend anyone, but I call kids who look too old because of clothes and makeup:
ProstiTots
My2Beauties replied: OK that was a good one!
mckayleesmom replied: OMG......Im laughing my butt off
MM'sMama replied: LMBO that is hilarious ITA
luvbug00 replied: They now have some pagents with the rules of NO makeup and age appropriate clothing. I think they are fine personally if the parents are doing it because the kids want to. But when they start living vicariously threw their little girls that makes me mad. ( that's why Mya is not in dance. I was a dancer and I know I would make sure she was the BEST . I figured better to stay clear. )
holley79 replied: No matter what the event may be as long as it is for the child only I say go for it. As for the dressing them up, I think that gets WAY out of hand. Zen, I had LMBO on that one.
I know plenty of kids whose parent push them to participate in sports and the kids just isn't into it.
