OK...maybe I don't understand - dvr

mckayleesmom wrote: Ok...I programed 3 programs in to be recorded. When one of the programs came on it said that I had to delete some because there were too many being recorded and this screen kept pooping up saying to see my DVR list or something like that. When I go to the list...it is empty. So I went to my guide and saw that it showed that they were all 3 scheduled to be recorded. So I deleted 2 of them....but it still kept popping up saying there wasn't enough room to record and I needed to delete some. I already did.

luvmykids replied: Are you trying to record more than one at the same time?

Kaitlin'smom replied: my DVR has 2 tuners meaning I can either record one watch something else, or record two, if I want to watch something while the other two are recording at the same time I have to watch one or go in another room.

mckayleesmom replied: Well...I thought I set it to record 1 at 1pm, another at 2pm and a 3rd at 3pm...Guess its not possible... laugh.gif

luvmykids replied:
It should be, did you try deleting all of them and starting over?

A&A'smommy replied:
it depends on how long the shows are, and how early you have them set to start recording like mine is set on 2minutes before the show starts so I could technicly do what you are doing (and I have before)

mckayleesmom replied:
I did set them each 2 minutes before and 2 after....they are only an hour long each....maybe its because they are on the same channell.

luvmykids replied: I dunno, I can record like that all day long. If it's telling you there isn't enough memory available maybe you got a box with a bad chip? Have you called tech support?

mckayleesmom replied: Not yet...I will wait for dh to get home and have him check it out...Maybe Im doing something wrong.

C&K*s Mommie replied: I would try to hold off on setting the third recording until the first recording is over with. If you can remember while the second show is recording, go ahead and set the third to record then.

If they were all at scattered times, I do not believe you would be encountering that. But since they are back to back, I think it is giving you grief because of that extra munite or two before the scheduled time, and the extra minute after the scheduled time. KWIM?

Hope it works out for you!

jem0622 replied: I would just program the DVR to tape for 3 hrs and not worry about taping 3 different shows. That is a way to work around it. But you should not be denied the opportunity to tape.

Also, if the channel history is blank or there is no program info, then you need to update your history so that the DVR knows what will be on and such.

My3LilMonkeys replied:
That is exactly it. Your DVR is kicking them out b/c you've made them overlap - it knows it can't record the same channel twice at the same time.

Do your shows usually start and end late? The only thing I've ever recorded after its end time is sports events. dunno.gif
