Jackie012007 replied: I love how these people love to point the finger and blame "the white man" (whomever he may be)... meanwhile several WHITE men from my home town in Oneida (some fire fighters, an electrician (my best friend's father)some contractors, etc) have been down there for 6 months straight doing cleanup and rebuilding their area... I hate how it has to be made a race issue every time. It was a tragedy no matter what color you are!

mom2my2cuties replied: You know, I really feel bad for the people of New Orleans. So badly that we had a VERY open door policy in our home and took in many many people into our home that fled from New Orleans. However, the more that this man opens his mouth the more that I really wonder about his true motives for his city. Because they seem much less than admirable.

I think he plays the "race card" everytime because it is something that still to this day, inspires a quick flash of hate from that race (no matter what race is using it) and he uses that flash of hate to get ahead in the world.

However, under no circumstance do I think he has ANY right to compare New Orleans to the World Trade Center site. While what happened with Hurricane Katrina was a true tragedy and my heart does go out to the people - From what I understand from the head of the hurricane watch place's (No sure what it's called) last interview - the Nagin was notified 3-4 days before he issued the evacuation order and so were the other proper people to notify. So I truly believe that at least a PART of the blame lays with the mayor and other government officials in this. (And if anyone has any information I might be missing, please share this with me I would love to know if I have missed something on the news or online)

Wouldn't that imply you had trailers to begin with? If you had a trailer before Katrina, why should you get a house instead?

This crap is why i don't watch the news... or much tv for that matter.
