Now she has a nasty cough!
mummy2girls wrote: Ok i have had it with all these colds and coughs! UGH! She is now hacking and has been since this morning. Non-stop all day thing! And its to a point where she will almost vomit. She isnt affected by it because after she has a cough fit she starts to sing and laugh. So... i did get her triaminic night time cough so lets see if that will work for her:( i am so ready to march down to her peds and ask himt o give her allergy testing because this is nuts! She has asthma and all these coughs and colds are not doing good for her health at all!
amymom replied: oh poor Jenna. I hope she feels better soon. I would do the allergy testing. I think that is a great idea!

IMO I'd be demanding answers from someone! There is no reason any kid should be sick as much as Jenna is. Poor baby. They need to give her something to boost her immune system.
redchief replied: Asthmatic kids tend to contract respiratory viruses easier due to their already fragile respiratory systems. Unfortunately their coughs tend to be worse too. I'm sorry Jenna's having such a rough season.
mummy2girls replied: i know thats what is frustrayting... I think she has allergy induced asthma...
mummy2girls replied: Its very annoying:(
redchief replied: Allergies and asthma are closely related. Have you had her tested for both?
mummy2girls replied: nope
CAMSMOM1 replied: I don't know if you read my post about Whooping Cough. It's going around, I had it over a month ago. It was a very severe cough...just like Jenna is having. I saw it on the news the other night, and they are calling to a Whooping Cough Epidemic because there has been so many cases of it this year. After my doctor saw me and heared me coughing, she right away suspected that it was W.C., so she prescribed antibotic. But the only way they know for sure is to run a blood test, which can take over a week to get the results (that's why she treated me right away) and when the test came back, it was positive and my DH and DS have to get treated because they were exposed. W.C. can last 2 months if it isn't treated and could cause other problems. Even if your doctor rules it out, ask for a blood test anyways. Just for some peace of mind. ITA that you should have her tested for allergies and asthma. And inhaler could really help open up her lungs. Does the cough get worse when she is running around? I would ask for any tests possible to get down to the bottom of this. Poor Jenna, i will hold her up in prayer. Let us know what the doctor has to say. I hope you get some answers soon!

did the triaminic work? Whenever Jason gets a cold, he always gets a cough too. His ped told me to give him triamininc night time so he can rest, but it never works at all.
mummy2girls replied: im in canada so where i am there isnt any wc going around. Plus i know its not that because she has been getting this kind of cough always. And yes she was tested and already diagnosed with asthma I just think that it is allergy induced. She just seems to get a cold even when no one around her has it:( Its weird!
mummy2girls replied: yes it helped a great deal! She slept the whole night with only 2 bouts of coughing. And she is now awake and not one cough came out of her yet. So we will see
