We were looking into using one when I was PG with Christian. I had no desire for her to be there during my labor, but she would have been. The thing that impressed me the most, is that she lived in Georgia and we were in Tallahassee. Mind you the state line for GA is only 30min or so from where we were. But she was willing to bring me whatever I needed, following the birth of Christian- even if it were a Coke- at anytime. (gas prices were in the $1.20/$1.30 range back then) We ended up not using her services, and I did fine without her anyways. I was curious about other people, and if you used one.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Nope
KingMom replied: I didn't use one last time, but have become somewhat interested this time, though I've done no searching
na81 replied: I didn't use one, but I have been hearing quite a bit about people that do.
BAC'sMom replied: Nope
luvmykids replied: I had one lined up the first time but they made me deliver in the OR and I was only allowed 2 people and my mom won out over her. She was extremely helpful before though. Didn't use one the second time.
MyLuvBugs replied: We didn't use one for the Lorelei's birth, but this time we are. And they said that if we can't afford to pay them all $400.00 then it's fine. I really liked that.
ashtonsmama replied: Yep-we've been looking, found a wonderful woman here...I'm really thankful to have found her!
CantWait replied: I didn't use one. MY OB had suggested that I look into when I had Anthony since there was a chance Ron wasn't going to be there, especially if I went early like I did with Robbie, but I never did.
luvbug00 replied: Nope and probaly never will I didn't want ANYONE talking to me durring labor and I was a vile person in labor.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Nope. I like the idea, but my DH is so great during L&D, plus during my PG and afterward, so I don't think I need someone else. I just had a prenatal massage from a doula and the thought of her massaging me during labor sounds awesome, but I don't want to pay her! DH is free!
holley79 replied: I had no clue what one was till my child birth class. I think, since I didn't fine, I won't use one with the next either. It would probably be nice to have one though.
Brias3 replied: Nope. Quite honestly, the idea was never appealing to me. No offense to those who have used or will be using one, I just was not particularly fond of having the involvement of another person outside of my husband or close family members.
