Noisy toys

Calimama replied: Oh I feel your pain, it seems like 80% of what Miabella got makes some kind of sound. She got the Pizza party Elmo.. I'm ready to throw him out the window. She loves him so much though. 
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: We got pretty lucky this year. The only noisy toy we got was one of those Leap Frog magnet barn things for Wesley. It goes on the refrigerator and says the animal noises when you push the buttons! Drives me nuts, but DH really wanted it for some odd reason. 
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Electric tape over the speakers muffles the sound some. I hated our Elmo so much I took it to Good Will.

I'm sure there are some that would get under my skin before it would get on my nerves.

We didn't get any noisy toys either but I have learned to try them first before I buy anything

Nothing, and I mean nothing, has been as bad as this alphabet caterpillar we once had, the thing was truly posessed. Even without batteries it made these weird sounds in the middle of the night that were just plain creepy

We have that!! I thought the battery was dying because it goes off ALL the time when no one is even CLOSE to touching it!!

I used to be able to pull this trick off better without going noticed, but what I used to do was take a piece of thicker tape, like duct tape even and cover the speaker part of any noise toys. That way, it sorta drowned out the sound a bit, without having to rip the batteries out in frustration! As far as randomly going off, that I have no solution for. I'll just agree that it bugged the daylights outta me!

hey now i got a printer last year that in the middle of the night it would start printing- didnt have it plugged into my computer or anything. now thats creepy
AlexsPajamaMama replied: My dad is good for getting noisy annoying toys, this year he got alex and my brother's 2 youngest step kids recorders, you know those whistle/flute things....ya, ours stayed at Pappy's house! The three of them were playing those all day...blowing into them as hard as they could!

OMG we have that too, and I am ready to rip off his clothes to find the blasted speaker. I don't think any toy is that loud!! At least if you can find the speaker you can cover it!
Do toy makers think children are deaf?? 
Boo&BugsMom replied: The only ones I find annoying are the dancing elmo's. Other than that, with having been in daycare for 7 years nothing phases me anymore.
