I can't imagine having to come up with all those names!

Every pregnancy is a risk....I am sure she had the best care and they made the choice to have their children and hope and pray just like all of us do during pregnancy for our babies...be there one or 8

I know it's a touchy subject and I would never expect for someone, after getting pregnant with that many to make the choice to abort a baby (I don't think I could)...

Natural pregnancies do not result in that many births.

There are also means of fertility treatments that don't result in that many births.

What an amazing thing she did I wish them luck and I hope they all grow, and I wish her TONS of luck breastfeeding all 8 and would love to see THAT work out for her!!!

Kirstenmumof3 replied: That's amazing! I think this happened in a case where a couple were expecting 5 babies and after the fifth was born, they were checking the uterus and found the 6th baby. There babies were made famous by staring in a real estate comercial. For the life of me I can't remember the lastname, but I'm sure this summer when I get back out to the cottage I will find the magazine that has the article!

yes, its called multifetal pregnancy reduction, and it is for mothers who are preg. with multiple babies. with some fertility treatments the mother is impregnated with a large number of fertilized eggs, just to make sure that a couple "stick" since the procedure is so expensive. if all the fertilized eggs 'stick" some may have to be removed so that the mother can carry them safely.
