New Computer Virus!!!!!!
mummy2girls wrote: I recieved an email from a friend and it says there is a nasty email virus going around that if you catch it cannot be erased at this time. It wrecks your hard drive. It gets into your contact list and sends out this email to everyone. So when they recieve it they think its safe because its from someone they know... Then it freezes your computer. Once you reboot or anything it ruins your hard drive! So if you get an email that subjects: You have a virtual card waiting for you...DO NOT OPEN. even if you know the sender. Erase it right away!!!!!!!
Believe me it can happen to anyone because i caught an email virus before (got rid of it) and it would send viruses to my contact lists.

TLCDad replied: Yep, new ones pop up all the time, especially variants of existing email viruses.
Only advice is to avoid opening attachments and always keep your virus software up to date. If it offers automatic downloading of updates, you should check it.
Also, keep your windows up to date as well by doing a windows update and downloading all critical security patches. You can skip the service packs.

Is this the same one you are talking about? If so it's a hoax.
But you never know, so thanks for the warning.
Doctor_Mom replied: But surely the Newfie virus wasn't a hoax was it? I believed it and delted all my files!!!
loveydad replied: I figured it was a hoax. (just because there's so many hoax's right now) There are a lot of hoaxes right now, so if you hear of one, you should probably go to snopes.com and make sure.
